ServiceNow CMDB Operations Developer

Description

The team supports the Enterprise Information Technology as a Service (EITaaS) contract for the Department of the Air Force, which delivers a common set of IT services across 187 bases.

The program aims to give users a consistent, high-quality experience in every mission environment and lets the Air Force shift its focus from network operations to mission operations.

The company is moving IT delivery from a base-by-base, in-house model to an enterprise service model.

You will work with the government customer and report to the CMDB Operations Manager.

The role keeps the Configuration Management Database (CMDB) on the ServiceNow platform accurate, complete and reliable across the CMDB ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Build, run and improve CMDB processes and workflows in ServiceNow using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, Catalog Client Scripts, Scheduled Jobs and REST APIs.
• Build and run reports, dashboards and metrics on CMDB health and usage with PA and/or CMDB Query Builder.
• Work on your own to find, troubleshoot and fix CMDB issues, including precedence and IRE problems.
• Run regular audits and data cleansing to keep CMDB data sound.
• Work with other IT teams so the CMDB stays a dependable, current source of truth for the whole IT environment.
• Track ServiceNow releases and bring in new CMDB features where they fit.
• Advise end users and IT staff and stakeholders on CMDB best practices.

Requirements

• You must be a US citizen and hold a Secret clearance by your start date.
• You need 10+ years of relevant experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field can replace 5 years of that experience.
• You have hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITOM Discovery, CMDB, CSDM, CI Class Manager, CMDB Data Manager, CMDB Health Dashboards, Performance Analytics, CMDB Query Builder and Service Mapping.
• You hold at least one of the following certifications: ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist, Data Foundations (CMDB and CSDM); ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist, CMDB; Certified ServiceNow Administrator; or Certified ServiceNow Developer.
• You communicate clearly with people at every level, both in writing and in speech.
• You have a solid grasp of ITSM and ITIL.
• You have a proven record with ITSM tools and work well in a fast-changing technical organization with a quickly growing customer base.
• You have experience analyzing data and the relationships within it across business areas.
• You have working knowledge of every stage of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, configuration management, quality assurance and release management.
• You are familiar with Agile Scrum.
• You are strong with MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, Visio) and SharePoint.
• Desired: Exposure to Axonius, HAM, SAMPro and Flexera Data Platform.
• Desired: Experience working in the Department of Defense.

Conditions

This is a full-time, regular position with up to 10% travel within the continental US.

Salary depends on factors such as location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, prior experience, specific skills, education and certifications.

The role can be performed from more than one location, so the posted range is the national average.

The proposed salary range is $75,200-$158,100.
