Description

AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode increasingly decide which financial products people hear about, so people ask them instead of scrolling search results.

The company's Organic Growth team helps members find it without paid media. It already appears often in AI answers across several core banking categories and wants to widen that lead.

This role owns the content and citation work that performs in AI search. You will work with the Principal, AI Search Strategy & SEO, who sets strategy, priority categories, targets, and measurement, and you will produce the content that helps hit the Visibility targets.

It is hands-on with real room for strategy. One week could include spotting a citation gap in a high-value category, briefing a publisher partner, moving an updated article through compliance, and publishing it in the CMS.

The company is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services are provided by The Bancorp Bank, N.A. or Stride Bank, N.A., Members FDIC.

Responsibilities

  • Build the blog and editorial plan for SEO and AEO, turning priority categories, prompt data, and member insights into a sequenced roadmap that earns accurate, positive citations in AI answers.
  • Run the editorial calendar and keep publishing on a steady schedule.
  • Format content so AI models can find, understand, and cite it, with direct answers, clean structure, and current product details such as rates, limits, and eligibility in Contentful.
  • Lead site content, including product launches and seasonal moments, working with Product Marketing. Improve blog and site conversion through inline CTAs, email capture, stronger conversion paths, and ongoing CRO tests.
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship with AirOps, the AI content optimization platform, and automate manual steps from drafting and optimization through disclosures and CMS publishing, aiming for faster turnaround without lower quality.
  • Lead offsite visibility with affiliate and publisher partners and manage the AI visibility budget. Find where AI answers cite sources that leave the company out, brief partners with accurate product information, and track each placement from request to live.
  • Manage a high-volume queue through Legal & Compliance and partner bank review, using AI-assisted pre-review tools to speed approvals.
  • Work with PR, Brand, Social, YouTube, and Help Center teams so what the web says about the company is accurate and consistent.
  • Track citations, AI visibility by topic, rankings, traffic, and enrollments. Run tests on format, structure, and CTAs, and present the findings at the weekly organic performance review.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in editorial strategy, content strategy, or SEO content, with a record of growing organic visibility, traffic, or conversions.
  • Practical AEO and GEO knowledge: how LLMs and AI answer engines pick and cite sources, and how structure, accuracy, and third-party coverage affect visibility.
  • Experience with AI content tools and workflows such as AirOps, Profound, or LLM-based writing and optimization tools, and a genuine drive to automate repetitive work.
  • Experience publishing in a regulated field such as financial services, fintech, insurance, or healthcare, including taking content through legal and compliance review.
  • Hands-on experience with a CMS and with Jira or similar ticket-based workflows. Contentful experience is preferred.
  • Experience managing freelancers, agencies, or external partners on timelines, quality, and budget.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, a careful eye for accuracy, and the ability to turn performance data into clear recommendations.
  • Ability to juggle many workstreams and stakeholders in a fast-changing area with little supervision.

Conditions

The role is listed as onsite. Those near an office are in the office four days a week and work from home on Fridays, with team and company events depending on location; a fully remote program is also available.

The base salary range is $105,000 - $145,000 USD. The actual offer may be higher depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

Full-time employees may also be eligible for bonuses, competitive equity, and benefits. Commission-based roles have pay beyond base salary, but this one is not stated as commissioned.

Equal opportunity: the company actively seeks people with varied strengths, skills, backgrounds, and ideas.

Benefits

  • Backup child, elder, and pet care, plus subsidized commuter benefits for eligible employees.
  • Comprehensive health, financial, and wellbeing benefits.
  • Generous vacation policy and company-wide paid days off.
  • 1% of your working time off to volunteer for a local community organization of your choice.
  • Annual wellness stipend for eligible wellness expenses.
  • Up to 22 weeks of paid parental leave for birthing parents and 12 weeks for non-birthing parents.
  • Reimbursement for family planning.
  • A challenging, fulfilling role on one of the most experienced teams in FinTech, helping millions reach financial progress.
