Description

Connected Buildings Technical Lead

You will own the systems, workflows and technical decisions behind a connected buildings platform for a healthcare client. In healthcare, buildings protect patients and pharmaceuticals and support critical operations, so stability and security matter.

The role suits a strong hands-on technical operator who likes running live building systems, building practical automation, and turning technical work into measurable results.

Responsibilities

  • Run the daily health, stability and administration of Niagara BMS and Skyspark environments with little supervision.
  • Keep systems up, control secure access and keep the platform reliable in live production.
  • Change BMS stations, graphics, alarms and Skyspark configurations as operational needs shift.
  • Make technical improvements that raise performance without hurting stability or supportability.
  • Build, use and refine Copilot agents and related workflows that export, organize and summarize BMS and analytics data.
  • Cut manual work so the team can act faster on technical and operational information.
  • Create quantitative tools and reports that show the impact of performance improvements the team makes.
  • Turn system changes, analytics findings and technical work into clear operational or business value.
  • Act as the team's liaison to the client's technology department, coordinating requirements, dependencies, access and priorities.
  • Help keep system changes and platform decisions aligned across internal teams and client stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot building systems and analytics workflows, focusing on fast recovery and preventing repeat issues.
  • Document configurations, procedures and changes so the environment stays secure, supportable and resilient.
  • Help improve Connected Buildings workflows, automation, analytics practices and platform governance.
  • Help move the program toward more scalable, proactive and insight-driven operations.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with Niagara BMS, Skyspark Analytics and live production building systems.
  • Ability to keep uptime, secure access and operational reliability in critical technical environments.
  • Experience changing BMS stations, graphics, alarms and analytics configurations as business needs change.
  • Experience building automation workflows and using AI tools, including Copilot agents, to work more efficiently.
  • Ability to build quantitative tools, reports and analytical methods that measure gains in operational or building performance, including energy savings.
  • Experience working directly with client or enterprise technology stakeholders on requirements, dependencies or access.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving across building systems and analytics platforms.
  • Highly self-directed and comfortable working mostly remotely without close supervision.
  • Strong prioritization, judgment and communication when technical and operational demands compete.
  • A mindset focused on reliability, accountability, continuous improvement and mission impact.
  • Experience with energy calculations: strongly preferred.
