Cloud DevOps Engineer (AWS, Terraform, K8S, Automation)

The company is a global software firm headquartered in San Diego, California, and is part of a larger group.

Its cloud platform helps electronics teams, including PCB designers, supply chain and manufacturing staff, develop and collaborate on products.

The role is hands-on and centres on AWS, Terraform, K8s and automation, with the aim of building and running AWS infrastructure, improving deployment workflows and automating routine operations.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain AWS infrastructure for both production and non-production environments.
• Write and own Infrastructure as Code in Terraform.
• Run EKS-based K8s workloads, covering deployments, scaling, upgrades and troubleshooting.
• Refine CI/CD pipelines and release automation using Jenkins or GitLab CI.
• Write automation and tooling in Python, Go, Bash or PowerShell to cut manual work.
• Improve monitoring and alerting for AWS and K8s using Prometheus or New Relic.
• Take part in an on-call rotation and lead operational fixes after incidents.

Requirements

• Have 6+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps or cloud infrastructure.
• Have deep AWS experience across core services: EC2, EKS, ECS, RDS, S3, Route 53 and VPC networking.
• Have strong Terraform experience.
• Understand K8s fundamentals, including networking, workloads, ingress, scaling and troubleshooting.
• Have worked with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins or GitLab CI, or an equivalent.
• Have solid Linux skills. Windows experience counts as a plus.
• Can write and maintain automation scripts and tools in Python, Go, Bash or PowerShell.
• Understand the SDLC and microservices deployment patterns.
• Have experience with AWS CDK (TypeScript or Python) or CloudFormation.
• Have experience with Jenkins.
• Have experience with Lambda, OpenSearch, Redis, AMQ, MySQL and FSx.
• Have strong AWS networking and security experience, including Transit Gateway, VPC peering, routing, security groups and NACLs.
• Understand AD, DNS and domain fundamentals.
