Cloud Developer Intern

Description

The company is a global edge-to-cloud business that helps customers connect, protect, analyze and act on their data and applications.

This is an onsite role, mainly based in a partner or customer office of the company.

Cloud Developers build for mission-critical applications and look for new ways to deliver end-to-end technical answers to customer problems.

You would break down complex data, prototype, design and build cloud-based solutions, and work with project managers and development partners on delivery, deployment, operation, monitoring and support.

The work covers new service offerings across multiple systems, platforms and applications within the company's cloud services portfolio.

The position sits in Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional teams to design, build and roll out cloud solutions that fit business needs.
• Help deploy and configure cloud infrastructure, platforms and services.
• Improve and automate cloud deployment processes for greater efficiency and scale.
• Test and troubleshoot cloud systems for reliability, performance and security.
• Follow industry trends and cloud computing practices, and recommend ongoing improvements.
• Help keep cloud operations running and provide technical support when needed.

Requirements

• Working towards a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, software development or another IT-related field.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language such as C, C++, Python, JavaScript or Java, plus related libraries, WebSockets and cloud networking protocols.
• Understanding of how software systems are designed to run on multiple platform types.
• Basic grasp of OOP principles and MVC design patterns, plus SQL and NoSQL databases, GNU, Linux, IPC, process scheduling and TCP/IP.
• Some exposure to full-stack Java development, Java frameworks and application servers, web services (SOAP and REST APIs), responsive JS (Angular, Node or React.js), and version control, preferably Git.

Conditions

The role may be classified as on desk or hybrid, depending on location and the specific position.
