Description

You would join the Finance Tribe at a key point in the company's growth. The company recently moved its main listing from the London Stock Exchange to Nasdaq and is expanding worldwide, with heavy investment in the technical base of its finance systems. SOX readiness is one of the main drivers of that work, and the company also sees it as a chance to rethink finance tooling for the AI era.

This is a 2 to 3 year transformation role. You would lead the engineering team that runs the platforms the group finance organisation uses for the company's financial operations. You would work with Product and the CFO organisation to modernise the ERP and the finance tools around it, build the engineering foundations for SOX as a newly US-listed company, and help define what AI-driven finance operations look like.

Responsibilities

  • Set the architecture and multi-year roadmap for the ERP and the finance platforms around it.
  • Lead, hire and develop a senior engineering team, and set the standard for engineering quality where correctness, auditability and resilience are essential.
  • Build the tooling, controls and change management practices that make SOX compliance part of how engineering works.
  • Raise the operational standard, including deployment frequency, observability, incident response and change control, to suit systems the CFO signs off on.
  • Work with Finance and Product to co-own the roadmap, turning group finance priorities such as close acceleration, intercompany, AP/AR and statutory reporting into a realistic engineering plan.
  • Decide where automation and AI-assisted tooling will pay off and where it will not, and guide the choice of tools and integrations.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years in software engineering, including at least 5 years leading engineering teams in finance, fintech or other regulated, audited domains.
  • Deep experience with Tier 1 ERPs such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday Financials or NetSuite at enterprise scale, including at least one migration, consolidation or major modernisation programme where you led the engineering work.
  • Experience with SOX or an equivalent control environment, with engineering practices you built that have held up under external audit.
  • Range across vendor configuration, custom extensions, integration middleware and event-driven patterns, with judgement on when to buy, build or wrap.
  • Ability to work with Finance business process leads at CFO level, explain complex trade-offs clearly and get the organisation aligned.
  • A pragmatic approach to transformation: shipping in increments without losing sight of the end goal.
  • First-hand experience taking a company through SOX readiness after a listing.
  • Background in fintech, payments or banking.
  • A clear, public view on AI in the finance back office, including what works and what is overhyped.

Conditions

The role is hybrid and based in London.

Starting salary is 135K to 175K GBP plus RSUs.

The company welcomes applicants from every background and treats equal opportunity as a core value.

Benefits

  • Restricted stock units (RSUs) on top of base salary.
  • Access to the company's benefits package.
