C/C++ Software Engineer 3 or 4 (AHT)

Description

The company's Advanced Weapons division is hiring a C/C++ software engineer at Level 3 or 4 for its multidiscipline engineering team.

You will help develop next-generation systems that protect technology used by the nation's warfighters.

The role covers every program that implements, tests and extends the STE software.

Responsibilities

• Write and update software documentation.
• Build, put into service and maintain existing software, mainly Windows desktop applications.
• Take part in every stage of the software development lifecycle.
• Use test equipment to troubleshoot both software and hardware.

Requirements

• Level 3: a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or a master's degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of experience.
• Level 4: a bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8+ years of experience, or a master's degree in a STEM field with 6 years of experience.
• Both levels: strong professional C/C++ development on Windows 10, 11 and Linux (CentOS preferred).
• Both levels: experience with MIL-STD-1553, TCP/IP, serial and Ethernet communication protocols.
• Both levels: experience deriving software requirements from system requirements, working with SRSs, ICDs and CDRLs.
• Both levels: a current US Government DoW Secret clearance.
• Preferred: hands-on system troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Preferred: experience working in a lab or on a production floor.
• Preferred: experience operating oscilloscopes, power meters, power supplies, signal generators and spectrum analyzers.
• Preferred: able to manage your own time and work with little oversight.
• Preferred: working experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket.
• Preferred: experience with DOORS and/or EPLM.
• Preferred: experience with hardware programmers such as JTAG, and the ability to set up test equipment for software development.
• Preferred: experience with other object-oriented languages such as C.
• Preferred: experience designing embedded systems with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems.

Conditions

This is a full-time, on-site role in Northridge, CA. Remote and telework arrangements are not available.

Travel is required about 10% of the time.

A Secret clearance is required before the start date.

Relocation assistance may be available but is not guaranteed.

Base pay for the primary level ranges from $114,000.00 to $171,000.00; for the secondary level, from $142,200.00 to $213,400.00.

Pay depends on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills and market conditions, so the range is a general guide.
