The role sits in the Consumer Industry Services team, which works with retail clients across borders on forecasting, automated restocking, stock optimization and demand and inventory planning. The team combines data science, SAP solution knowledge, retail process expertise and customer consulting, and works on current SAP Retail Intelligence scenarios and on next-generation forecasting and AI topics that customers need to be ready to adopt.

Responsibilities

• Help international retail customers implement and integrate SAP Customer Activity Repository, Unified Demand Forecast and SAP Retail Intelligence, focusing on data analysis, AI and ML demand forecasting, replenishment and stock optimization.
• Assess and prepare large data volumes, and help build reliable forecasting, planning and optimization models.
• Carry out time series analysis, feature engineering, model validation, forecast quality assessment, error analysis, KPI design, model monitoring, retraining approaches and ongoing forecast improvement.
• Support data integration between SAP components and heterogeneous data sources, and help keep data quality high through validations, monitoring and governance methods.
• Work with functional and technical teams to improve customers' end-to-end processes in demand planning, forecasting, automated replenishment and inventory management.
• Contribute to next-generation forecasting and AI topics, and help customers prepare for and adopt new planning and forecasting capabilities.
• Support retail customers on their path from the Autonomous Enterprise toward Autonomous Unified Commerce.

Requirements

• Ideally a degree in mathematics, computer science, data science, engineering, natural sciences or a comparable qualification, plus relevant professional experience.
• Practical experience in time series analysis, statistical methods, machine learning, AI-enabled forecasting, data preparation and data quality checks.
• Confidence with SQL, databases, large data volumes, data models and analytical questions.
• Understanding of integration scenarios, and the ability to assess functional and technical requirements together with technical teams.
• Nice to have: experience with data integration, complex system landscapes and heterogeneous data sources.
• Interest in applying data science in retail processes and in growing your expertise in SAP Retail Intelligence, Demand and Inventory Planning, AI-based planning and customer-facing consulting. Detailed knowledge of all SAP components is not required, but curiosity and a willingness to learn SAP Retail Intelligence and modern planning processes are essential.
• Ability to explain analytical results clearly to different stakeholder groups and turn them into actionable recommendations.
• Structured, self-directed and team-oriented, with strong analytical thinking and an interest in working in international teams.
• Fluent German and business-level English are required.
