Business Data Analyst (Damage&Service) - Carfax

Description

The company is Carfax, a division of Mobility Global, which helps people shop for, buy, service and sell used cars using vehicle history information.

The team builds products on a vehicle history database, and this role sits within that work.

Responsibilities

• Carry out complex analysis that supports product development and gives decision makers data-based insights.
• Connect new data sources to the vehicle history database, which is the core of the company's products.
• Process complex datasets with Python, EMR Notebooks, Airflow, SQL and similar tools.
• Partner with development teams to find technical solutions that hold up over the long term.

Requirements

• Intermediate Python skills, including common data analysis libraries such as pandas and numpy, backed by hands-on practice.
• Experience writing SQL queries.
• A positive, can-do attitude toward new challenges, including when priorities compete.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and support skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Curiosity about new ways to analyze data.
• Optional: knowledge of AWS services, especially Athena, EMR and S3.
• Optional: experience with Airflow and Tableau.
• Optional: experience with machine learning.
• Optional: experience with AI assistant tools.
• Optional: interest in automotive data.

Base salary may be supplemented by incentive pay, long-term incentives and a full benefits package, where applicable.
