Description

The company is hiring a Brand & Marketing Intern for its Central Marketing team. The internship lasts at least six months.

The company has moved from its earlier identity to a B2B software and AI-powered location technology business. Its current focus is on presenting itself in a way that matches what it is today and where it is heading.

You will work alongside an external brand strategy consultant and the Central Marketing team on the repositioning project, seeing how positioning and brand narrative are researched, debated, agreed and put into practice.

The role suits someone who thinks strategically about where a brand should go and is equally willing to work through the details to get it done.

You are expected to contribute ideas, ask questions and form your own views, not just observe.

Responsibilities

  • Support the brand repositioning project, from early research and strategy work through to rollout.
  • Depending on the project stage, research competitors, customers, technology trends and how other B2B technology firms position themselves.
  • Review the company's existing messaging, decks, websites and marketing materials.
  • Prepare for stakeholder interviews and workshops, capture the insights, and follow up on agreed actions.
  • Organize research, feedback and input gathered from different teams across the company.
  • Help build the company narrative, its messaging and the evidence that supports it.
  • Turn strategy into practical marketing materials and guidance teams can apply.
  • Build and assist with presentations for senior leaders and other teams.
  • Work with the various marketing disciplines so the new story is applied consistently.
  • Help plan project timelines, deliverables and feedback rounds.
  • Join in on wider Central Marketing team work where you can get involved and learn.

Requirements

  • You do not need to know everything already. Curiosity, initiative and a readiness to learn matter most.
  • You are currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's programme in marketing, communications, branding, business or a related field.
  • You remain enrolled at a Dutch university for the full length of the internship.
  • Non-European students need a Nuffic agreement or another three-party agreement from their university.
  • You live no more than 1 hour from Amsterdam.
  • You are interested in brands, technology and what sets companies apart.
  • You think ahead, connect ideas, spot opportunities and form a point of view.
  • You are hands-on and willing to do the research, organizing, writing or building a task needs.
  • You move between the big picture and the details without losing either.
  • You ask probing questions and do not accept the first answer without testing it.
  • You take initiative and can work without every step being specified.
  • You communicate clearly and are strong at storytelling, language and presenting.
  • You are organized and handle working with different people and shifting priorities well.
  • You can work on your own and also enjoy collaborating.
  • You have a strong command of written and spoken English.
  • Prior marketing or communications experience is welcome but not required. Mindset, curiosity and willingness to get involved count for more.

Conditions

The role is for at least six months, working 40 hours per week.

You are expected in the office twice a week.

You receive a monthly salary of 1100 euros.

You receive around 10 days of paid leave during the six months.

Candidates based outside Amsterdam are eligible for an NS business card for commuting to the office.

Benefits

  • You learn by doing on a live company positioning project alongside an experienced external brand strategist and the Central Marketing team.
  • You see how research turns into strategy, how different viewpoints are reconciled, and how a company story goes from a draft to something staff across the business can use.
  • You work with people across marketing, communications, sales, product and leadership.
  • The company wants to learn from you as well: bring ideas, challenge its thinking and say when you see things differently.
