Description

The company's Immunology franchise is getting ready to change how inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is treated, using one of its high-priority new assets, and this role sits within its Specialty Care business.

You will set and carry out the healthcare professional (HCP) marketing strategy for this IBD asset, from prelaunch through launch and beyond. The work covers a potentially groundbreaking therapy in a disease area with major unmet need and a fast-changing competitive market.

You report to the Global Brand Lead and work closely with key markets, including the US and Japan. You will also manage the Agency of Record relationship.

The product is being developed and marketed with a partner company, and the company will handle launches outside the EU.

The team is growing ahead of launch, so you will help build the marketing function largely from the ground up. The aim is for gastroenterologists, IBD specialists and other relevant HCPs to be informed, engaged and equipped to identify and treat patients with IBD.

The company is an R&D-driven, AI-powered biopharma business focused on the immune system.

Responsibilities

  • Own the global HCP marketing strategy for the IBD asset across prelaunch and launch, based on treatment landscape, competitor and customer insight.
  • Act as the senior leadership's go-to expert on IBD HCP marketing.
  • Align Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Advocacy and Market Research, plus key markets such as the US and Japan, on integrated execution that still fits each local market.
  • Build and refine HCP segmentation using prescribing behaviour, specialty, patient mix and engagement preferences, then use it to guide targeting and budget allocation.
  • Turn segmentation into practical omnichannel campaign plans and adjust them as the HCP landscape shifts.
  • Design disease awareness campaigns and education content that close HCP knowledge gaps in IBD diagnosis and management.
  • Lead the commercial KOL strategy, covering identification, mapping and relationship building, and work with medical societies and patient advocacy groups to widen reach.
  • Plan and run Advisory Boards and Strategic Steering Committees, and turn the input into strategic recommendations.
  • Build trust-based KOL relationships that support brand advocacy.
  • Develop evidence-based messaging and integrated omnichannel campaigns across digital, in-person and hybrid channels for gastroenterologists, IBD specialists and other prescribers.
  • Oversee promotional and non-promotional materials to make sure they meet regulatory, legal and medical standards.
  • Run the Agency of Record relationship end to end, including briefs, budget, performance reviews and building an agile, high-performing partnership.
  • Design seamless, personalised omnichannel HCP experiences, using AI and analytics for targeting, personalisation and channel optimisation.
  • Pilot new digital tools such as AI, predictive analytics and virtual platforms to keep the HCP programme at the leading edge.
  • Work with Market Research and Competitive Intelligence to build a continuous insights framework that shapes strategy, messaging and campaigns.
  • Define KPIs and measurement frameworks for campaigns, engagement and brand performance, and report the insights to senior leadership.
  • Manage HCP marketing budgets with rigour and accountability.
  • Act as the marketing liaison to Medical Affairs for scientific accuracy, Market Access for value messaging and Patient Advocacy for the patient voice.
  • Work with the partner company's counterparts to keep execution aligned and consistent across the company's and partner's markets.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in life sciences, marketing, business or a related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive pharmaceutical or biotech marketing experience, including HCP marketing in specialty care.
  • Experience leading prelaunch and launch marketing for innovative therapies, including building marketing capabilities from scratch.
  • Strong grasp of omnichannel marketing and digital HCP engagement, with experience applying AI in pharmaceutical marketing.
  • Experience planning and facilitating advisory boards and strategic steering committees, and engaging KOLs in a commercial setting.
  • Proven agency management skills, including briefing, budget oversight and performance management.
  • Solid knowledge of pharmaceutical regulatory and promotional review processes.
  • Ability to build strategic marketing plans and turn them into actionable, measurable campaigns.
  • Experience navigating complex specialty-care treatment landscapes.
  • A track record of developing and running successful disease awareness campaigns.
  • Global marketing experience across diverse markets and cultures, including the US and Japan.
  • An advanced degree (MBA, PharmD or PhD) is preferred.
  • Experience in gastroenterology, immunology or related therapeutic areas is preferred, including gastroenterology or IBD.
  • Background in inflammatory, autoimmune or biologics markets is preferred, with familiarity with the IBD treatment landscape, including standard of care and emerging therapies, being preferred.
