Blockchain Engineer - Digital Assets Platform (AVP)

Description

The company is building its the company Integrated Digital Assets Platform, and the team needs a hands-on backend engineer with a Java focus to help build and extend it.

You will join the core team as an AVP-level Blockchain Engineer, working inside a large group of engineers spread across the company's software engineering network.

The role calls for someone who has built and run web applications in production and understands enterprise-grade backend work.

Working knowledge of web3 infrastructure, blockchain and digital assets is expected. Experience building web3 applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with teammates to decide how web applications using blockchain should be built
• Help deliver functional scope for blockchain-based applications to the quality the team has set
• Support solution engineering so stakeholder needs and expectations are met
• Apply established patterns and best practices for enterprise web applications and for web3 applications
• Use shared collaboration tools to manage and deliver work across a distributed team
• Write and keep up technical documentation for the code and applications you build and maintain
• Communicate clearly with teammates and stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, at every level
• Flag, fix, and escalate problems early so projects stay on time, on budget, and at quality
• Write clean, maintainable code that is tested and reviewed, with a sound structure
• Build enterprise-grade web applications hands on
• Apply data structures, algorithms, and design patterns in working code
• Use deployment and application management tools such as git, Jira, Jenkins, and Helm Charts

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building backend web services with Java and Spring
• Experience across the full software development and testing lifecycle
• Experience building web applications with asynchronous programming and messaging
• Knowledge of practices and patterns that keep web applications reliable, scalable, and fast
• A record of shipping good-quality commercial software of growing complexity
• Strong computer science fundamentals and the ability to turn them into clean code
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering
• Nice to have: experience building web3 applications and using libraries such as Web3J and Web3JS
• Nice to have: knowledge of web3 application practices
• Nice to have: Solidity code and its best practices
• Nice to have: DevOps basics and containerized applications
• Nice to have: Agile methods and Scrum
• Nice to have: a master's degree in computer science or a related field
• Nice to have: experience in financial services
