Senior Software Engineer I - Risk Control & Governance

Description

You will join the Risk & Control Governance team within the Risk Assessment Group as a senior product engineer.

The role sits between the Risk API platform, Product and Financial Crime (FinCrime) teams, where you build the systems that give the company confidence in every risk assessment it runs at scale.

The goal is to make sure each risk decision is consistent, explainable, auditable and monitored over time.

Your first priority is building the assurance and governance foundations the platform does not yet have, so every control can show it used the right trigger, had the right data, made the right decision and still works.

You join at a key moment, and your work will be visible and central to the governance layer of the Risk Assessment platform.

Responsibilities

• Build data trust by adding data quality monitoring, data contracts and lineage tracking, so each risk decision can be traced back to its source data.
• Own data governance, including data ownership, lineage and quality monitoring.
• Create automated monitoring that checks controls keep working, catching drift, false positives and negatives, and coverage gaps before they become incidents.
• Design control assurance systems covering trigger validation, coverage analysis and control health scoring.
• Build audit trail infrastructure, change history tracking and explainability tooling that cut the effort of regulatory reporting and compliance evidence, including generating it in one click.
• Design high-throughput solutions for large data volumes that are easy to understand and can扩展 across several risk domains.
• Work with the Risk API team to put governance and assurance into the core platform, with clean integration points and shared data contracts.

Requirements

• Solid backend engineering background, with proven experience building high-throughput, data-heavy systems in any language.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, SQL and NoSQL databases, and designing for scale and reliability.
• Experience with data quality frameworks, pipeline orchestration or lineage tracking, and an understanding of what makes data reliable at scale.
• Ability to reason about complex distributed systems, spot failure modes and design solutions that are robust yet simple to operate.
• Comfortable with ambiguity, able to set your own scope from high-level goals and drive delivery end to end with little direction.
• Able to work across team boundaries, especially with Risk API, Product and FinCrime stakeholders, to agree on contracts, data models and integration patterns.
