Azure Cloud Engineer - Intermediate Cloud Engineer

Description

The company is hiring an intermediate Azure Cloud Engineer, a full-time, regular role in Information Technology.

You will keep data, applications and other technology moving from on-premises systems to cloud infrastructure in a way that is efficient and keeps costs down.

The role requires an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph, which must be in place to start.

There is no travel for this position.

Responsibilities

• Move data from on-premises or legacy systems to the cloud.
• Plan migrations by running risk assessments, identifying technical requirements and keeping project timelines on track.
• Administer Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive, and make sure they stay secure, integrated and performing well.
• Monitor system health and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Find ways to optimize the cloud environment and cut costs.
• Work with stakeholders so business needs are met during and after a migration.
• Support systems after migration and resolve any problems that come up.
• Write up configurations, processes and procedures.
• Automate admin work with PowerShell scripts.
• Apply security and compliance policies.
• Manage user accounts, permissions and licensing.
• These duties are not a complete list; other work may be assigned.

Requirements

• Either 8 years of experience with an HS diploma or GED, or 3 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree.
• You must be a current US citizen.
• You must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph, with no waiver minimum.
• You need DoD 8570 IA Type IAT Level 2 certification.
• You need CompTIA A+ CE and CompTIA Network+ CE certifications.
• You have cloud architecture skills.
• You solve problems quickly and take the initiative to fix issues before they escalate.
• You write PowerShell scripts for automation and configuration management.
• You have a proven record as an M365 engineer, cloud engineer or similar, with a focus on M365 and Azure.
• You have proven experience with Azure cloud services and migration projects.
• You know Python.
• You manage your own work and set priorities without close supervision.
• You think analytically, solve problems and pay close attention to detail.
• You know Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive well.
• You understand cloud security principles and best practices.
• You organize your work, communicate clearly and collaborate across teams.
• You are skilled in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• You understand Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms, including identity management, authentication and security controls.
• You understand cloud security, compliance and governance.

Conditions

Pay depends on factors such as location, federal government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant experience, specific skills, education and certifications.

The proposed salary range is $86,600 - $181,800.

The schedule is day shift, Monday to Friday, with on-call duties.
