Automation and Digital Solution Engineer

Description

This role runs automation projects within the organization, implementing and improving automation solutions to raise operational efficiency, cut costs and improve quality.

The company is a global biopharma business that makes specialty medicines and vaccines, working in respiratory, immunology and inflammation, oncology, HIV and infectious diseases.

Responsibilities

• Lead automation work on assigned projects, keeping standards consistent, solutions robust and the automation strategy aligned.
• Report progress clearly to the Automation Solution Manager.
• Help grow the Automation Solutions team by addressing performance issues directly and working well with colleagues.
• Coordinate the installation, configuration and integration of automation systems with cross-functional teams so work runs smoothly.
• Manage automation projects from start to finish, delivering on schedule, within scope and within budget.
• Maintain complete documentation of automation solutions, including design specifications, project plans and operating procedures.
• Make sure every automation solution meets regulatory requirements, industry best practice and company policy.
• Apply the employer's Health, Safety and Environment rules in your area under D.Lgs. 81/2008, 152/2006 and the EHS&S corporate standards. Use required personal protective equipment and escalate any unforeseen risk so the right action is taken.

Requirements

• Master's degree in engineering (automation, electronics, informatics or process engineering).
• At least 3 years' experience in the engineering department of GMP pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing, on complex end-to-end sites.
• Fluent Italian and good written and spoken English.
• Strong team builder and team player, with active listening and a customer focus.
• Clear communication, including training, facilitation and presentation.
• Results-driven, with a strong quality, compliance and EHS mindset.
• High integrity while balancing several priorities and responsibilities.
• Working knowledge of construction and design management, data integrity, GxP regulations, lean management, manufacturing technologies, pharmaceutical manufacturing, problem solving, project scheduling, risk awareness, digital fluency and scope management.

Italian annual gross base salary range for new hires: EUR 37,575 to EUR 62,625. Ranges vary by country and reflect skills, experience, education and market rate. Offers are usually within the range, with the upper end generally reserved for highly experienced candidates or exceptional circumstances. Where no range is shown for a location, pay is discussed during recruitment.

The National Collective Bargaining Agreement for the chemical and chemical-pharmaceutical industry applies, and for some roles the agreement for industrial executives also applies, depending on job classification.
