Associate IAM Engineer

Description

The Office of Technology and Innovation runs city technology work for New York City, including affordable broadband, cybersecurity protection and digital government services.

The Associate IAM Engineer supports daily operations of the identity and access management environment, focusing on operational support, service continuity and routine IAM administration.

The role helps with user and group management, access provisioning, role assignments, authentication support, ticket resolution and troubleshooting identity issues in Microsoft Entra ID and related platforms, keeping IAM services stable, responsive and aligned with operational needs.

The team works on projects with a broad public impact and with colleagues who are committed to using technology well.

Responsibilities

• Support end users and internal stakeholders while following standard IAM procedures.
• Document your work clearly and help maintain security and access controls across enterprise systems.
• Keep day-to-day operations running while building hands-on experience in identity, security and infrastructure support.
• Take on special projects and initiatives when assigned.
• Work shifts that may include weekends and nights or evenings, since the 24/7 operation requires it.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college plus four years of satisfactory full-time experience in projects and policies relevant to the position.
• Or equivalent education and/or experience to the above.
