Applications Development Sr Programmer Analyst - C12 - MISSISSAUGA

Description

The company needs an intermediate-level applications developer to help set up and put in place new or revised application systems and programs alongside the Technology team. The role contributes to systems analysis and programming work on those applications.

This is a senior programmer analyst job in Mississauga, full time.

Responsibilities

• Carry out feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, technology risk work, applications development and model development, and build new or revised applications and programs that meet specific business needs or user areas.
• Oversee every stage of development, from analysis and design through construction, testing and rollout, and give business users and operations support on the applications.
• Apply deep specialist knowledge of applications development to complex problems, assess business processes, system processes and industry standards, and make sound evaluative judgments.
• Propose and build security measures, and review how the business uses systems after go-live to confirm the design works as intended.
• Work with users, clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and support customer-facing systems.
• Make sure essential procedures are followed, and help define operating standards and processes.
• Advise and coach newer or junior analysts.
• Work with limited direct supervision and use your own independent judgment.
• Act as subject matter expert for senior stakeholders and team members.
• Assess risk when making business decisions, with close attention to the firm's reputation and to protecting the company, its clients and its assets. Drive compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations and internal policy, use sound ethical judgment in your conduct and business practices, and escalate, manage and report control issues openly.
• Perform other job-related duties as needed.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in systems analysis and programming of software applications.
• Experience managing and delivering projects successfully.
• Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques and methods.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or sudden changes in expectations or requirements.
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience.

Conditions

Full-time position based in Mississauga.

Base salary range is $94,300.00 to $141,500.00.
