Description

The digital engineering ecosystem (DEE) team builds a modern platform for an advanced military propulsion program. The DEE is a large-scale data platform and the one authoritative source for program information, including design models, simulation results, test data and manufacturing specifications.

The platform links CAD tools, databases, analytics software and collaboration tools into one system. Engineers, suppliers and DoD customers use it to work together in near real time.

The program takes an advanced engine concept through design, development, vehicle integration, testing and qualification. The DEE is the digital foundation for this work, offering a permission-based network built on a shared data repository so information moves smoothly and engineering moves faster.

The role is based in the Advanced Product Development (APD) group. The platform supports engine qualification and production and later fielding and sustainment for years afterward.

The team works with customers, suppliers and internal groups across organizational lines, so self-direction and the ability to drive technical decisions in a shared environment matter.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain a durable digital ecosystem that supports engineering work, collaboration and data exchange with customers and the program team.
  • Build dashboards and APIs on DEE data so customers and program leaders can see program status and make decisions in real time.
  • Define and carry out a DEE data management strategy that meets customer requirements and protects intellectual property.
  • Handle, store and provide access to engineering data within the DEE, including design documents, CAD models, simulation analysis and test results.
  • Make sure digital tools in the DEE integrate and work together.
  • Watch DEE system performance and make improvements that increase reliability and scalability.
  • Partner with the Digital Technology (DT) and Information Assurance (IA) teams to deploy software in the DEE and coordinate networking infrastructure support.
  • Track new developments in digital engineering and data analytics and keep improving DEE tools and processes.
  • Apply lean and flight deck methods within the DEE.
  • Build data pipelines that connect with customer systems.
  • Identify and implement AI and machine learning solutions for engineering workflows, including automated data analysis, faster design decisions and insight from large program datasets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics or mathematics from an accredited college or university, or a high school diploma or GED plus at least 9 years of engineering experience.
  • At least 5 years of engineering experience.
  • Ability to obtain and keep a US Government security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required to qualify for one.
  • Strong software engineering skills, experience integrating platforms and developing APIs, and deep knowledge of managing data at scale.
  • Enthusiasm for AI technologies is required, including interest in applying machine learning, natural language processing and other AI capabilities to aerospace engineering problems.
  • Desired: active Advanced Program access.
  • Desired: strong communication skills for working with customers, and a proven ability to influence teams.
  • Desired: experience with digital tools such as Jira, Confluence and Cameo.
  • Desired: experience developing and maintaining APIs.
  • Desired: experience with the company's digital tools and processes.
  • Desired: experience working with DoD customers and their processes.
  • Desired: experience with the company's EVM tools.
