SAP Integration Suite Senior Developer

Description

The company is hiring a senior developer for SAP Integration Suite work supporting a mission-critical SAP S/4HANA solution for a demanding client in logistics and transportation operations.

You will design, build, secure and maintain integrations between SAP instances and external enterprise systems, with strong hands-on SAP Integration Suite, SAP Business Technology Platform, middleware and Service-Oriented Architecture experience.

The work covers government and commercial transportation environments and must align with Department of Defense transportation doctrine, applicable regulations and SAP Clean Core principles.

Responsibilities

• Review customer operations to confirm requirements, set scope, suggest process improvements and help with level-of-effort estimates
• Turn business and technical requirements into complete integration solutions
• Build integration flows using synchronous, asynchronous, event-driven and API-led patterns
• Model and design interface objects following enterprise Service-Oriented Architecture principles
• Set up connectors, mappings, routing rules and security protocols such as OAuth, SAML and SSL/TLS
• Configure standard and custom adapters for SFTP, REST, SOAP, OData, JDBC and IDoc
• Build and manage message mapping, data transformation and routing
• Set up electronic data interchange interfaces through Trading Partner Management
• Apply message implementation and mapping guidelines when implementing mappings
• Configure AS2, SFTP and OData adapters for EDI scenarios
• Write Groovy and Java scripts for complex mappings between SAP and external systems
• Monitor, troubleshoot and debug SAP integration flows to fix functional and performance problems
• Implement SAP ABAP applications and interfaces
• Build, test, debug, deploy, maintain and document interfaces using SAP Proxy and IDoc technologies
• Write and maintain SAP design documents and technical specifications
• Run unit, integration and release testing to confirm system behaviour
• Follow development standards and take part in code reviews
• Work closely with functional, technical, security and business teams

Requirements

• You must be able to obtain a Federal Secret security clearance; an active clearance is preferred
• At least 15 years of SAP experience, including 10 years or more with SAP integration middleware
• Extensive experience with SAP Integration Suite, including Cloud Integration
• Strong experience with SAP Integration Advisor and SAP Business Technology Platform
• Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, SAP ECC and SAP BTP architecture
• Deep understanding of point-to-point, hub-and-spoke, publish-subscribe and event-driven architecture
• Experience designing and implementing API, middleware and event-driven integration patterns
• Experience supporting EDI and business-to-business integration
• Proficiency in Groovy scripting, XSLT and API management
• Experience developing, publishing, securing, monitoring and managing APIs
• Experience applying OAuth, SAML and SSL/TLS security policies
• Strong knowledge of REST, SOAP, OData, SFTP, EDI, JSON and XML
• Experience with EDIFACT and X12 EDI standards
• Experience configuring SFTP, REST, SOAP, OData, JDBC, IDoc and AS2 adapters
• Knowledge of SAP IDoc processing and monitoring services
• Experience using SAP Cloud Integration IDoc sender and receiver adapters to convert SAP IDoc messages to XML
• Knowledge of SAP ABAP clients and server proxy technologies
• Experience writing and maintaining SAP design documents and technical specifications
• Experience with unit, integration and release testing
• Ability to follow development standards and carry out code reviews

• Preferred: SAP Business Technology Platform Integration Suite training or certification
• Preferred: experience aligning SAP integrations with DoD transportation requirements
• Preferred: familiarity with the Defense Transportation Regulation and the DoD Financial Management Regulation
• Preferred: understanding of SAP Clean Core principles
• Preferred: experience integrating government and commercial transportation systems
