Description

The company is a global technology business with more than 83,000 employees on five continents, including over 7,500 in the UK. It works across defence, space, aerospace and digital security.

This 24-month apprenticeship is for people who enjoy building digital products, learn quickly, and want a mix of study and hands-on work. It is aligned to the Level 4 Digital Product Manager Apprenticeship standard and delivered with a digital specialist provider in a virtual format: live lectures, online resources and self-directed study.

You will build the product knowledge, practical skills and professional habits needed to define, prioritise and deliver useful products and improvements. You will join the product and delivery community on live projects, working with engineering, design, data, systems and domain specialists to turn user and business needs into clear outcomes, ordered work and measurable delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Work alongside experienced product owners and AIDMs on live initiatives to pick up sound product practice.
  • Shadow product owners and AIDMs to understand customer and stakeholder needs, then turn them into clear product goals and requirements.
  • Help with product discovery by defining user problems, assumptions and success metrics.
  • Support backlog refinement by gathering input, flagging risks and suggesting clearer wording for requirements.
  • Help validate work through demos, feedback loops and ongoing improvement of product outcomes.
  • Carry out simple stakeholder and user research, such as interviews, surveys and feedback reviews, and summarise what you find.
  • Draft problem statements, hypotheses and success measures for discovery work.
  • Write light documentation such as user story notes, FAQs, release note drafts and decision records.
  • Support change management with training materials, rollout checklists and escalation paths.

Requirements

  • One A Level in any subject, a BTEC equivalent, or a Level 3 apprenticeship.
  • Five GCSEs at grade 9 to 4 (A to C), including English and Maths, or equivalent.

Conditions

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 37 hours a week, with 8 hours Monday to Thursday and 5 hours on Friday.

Permanent contract starting Monday 6 September 2027.

Hybrid or flexible working options are available.

Induction week for apprentices runs from Monday 6 to Friday 10 September 2027.

Assessment centres for shortlisted candidates run between February and May 2027.

Selection includes online tests, then a virtual assessment centre with group exercises and competency-based interviews. Successful candidates who perform well receive a job offer.

The programme ends with an End Point Assessment, followed by a permanent role in the UK business.

Applications close at 11:59pm on Wednesday 17 February 2027, and this is the only application window this year. The role may close earlier if applications are high in number. Next steps are communicated by the end of February 2027.

All roles require security clearance. SC clearance typically requires living in the UK continuously for the last five years, and vetting asks for proof of identity, right to work in the UK, any time spent overseas in the last five years, and employment and education history.

The company is an equal opportunities employer.

  • Performance-related pay uplifts.
