The water team is hiring a water and wastewater project manager who cares about conveyance, treatment plant evaluation, design and construction.

You will have a track record as a client-facing project manager on regional and municipal water and wastewater treatment work.

The role sits in the New England water practice, based in Chelmsford, MA, Boston, MA or Rocky Hill, CT, on a varied set of technically demanding water resource projects, and you would contribute right away to an established practice.

  • Carry out technical reviews and apply the company's quality standards.
  • Serve as the point of contact for projects and clients in New England, both inside and outside the company.
  • Coach and develop mid-level and junior staff.
  • Make decisions and direct others in identifying risk and uncertainty, and in planning how to reduce or remove it.
  • Lead business development, pursuing new clients and projects and leading proposals, including the technical approach and cost pricing.
  • Take part in water and wastewater organizations by presenting at conferences and volunteering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, plus at least 4 years of related experience in water and/or wastewater treatment, pumping and collection systems.
  • Professional Engineer registration, or the ability to obtain it within 1 year.
  • A current, valid U.S. driver's license, and passing the company's motor vehicle records review as a condition of employment.
  • Preferred: 6 or more years of related experience in water or wastewater consulting and engineering management.
  • Preferred: Professional Engineer registration in MA, CT, NH, RI, VT or ME, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.
  • Preferred: prior experience leading scope, technical approach and pricing for business development.
  • Preferred: prior work on water or wastewater treatment, pumping stations, collection systems and client relations.
  • Preferred: prior experience leading client and public presentations.
  • Preferred: ability to collaborate well and motivate staff and project teams.
  • Preferred: prior experience leading design-build or alternative delivery projects.
