Undergrad Software Engineering Intern (Grad Year: Winter 2027)

Description

The company launched in 2011 and runs a global community that creates live, multiplayer entertainment, from casual gaming and esports to anime, music and art streams.

The company also hosts TwitchCon, an event for the community to meet, learn and pursue shared interests.

This is an internship open only to undergraduate students at North American colleges and universities who are current computer science students.

The team looks for people with high potential and runs a cohort-based program.

Responsibilities

• Take part in product design and implementation discussions.
• Devise and build your own solutions to carry projects from the idea stage through to production.
• Test and refine code both before and after it is released to production.
• Get to know fellow interns, new teammates and colleagues across the business.
• Work on hard engineering problems at very large scale, including techniques used by only the biggest websites.

Requirements

• Be on track to graduate with a BA or BS in Winter 2027 or Spring/Summer 2028. Master's and PhD candidates do not qualify.
• Be keen to dig into problems and reliably propose sound solutions quickly.
• Be ready to learn a new programming language and become productive in it within a week.
• Enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
• Have completed coursework in data structures and algorithms, or have a working understanding of them.

Work from San Francisco, CA.

Base pay ranges from $42.5/hr in the lowest US geographic market to $88.94/hr in the highest, depending on market location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

Equity, sign-on payments and other compensation may be offered as part of a total compensation package, depending on the position.
