Tester - Solution Testing

Description

The company is a leading media and entertainment business that connects millions of people with entertainment, sports, news and arts through its products and services.

The Advertising Technology team builds and runs the products that deliver ads across the company's services, from streaming and mobile to older platforms.

You will be a Test Analyst, working hands-on with recent changes and new developments in these products, within a squad.

Responsibilities

• Design and carry out end-to-end tests for ad technology and media delivery solutions.
• Work with your squad to pin down expected system behaviour by reviewing requirements and design documents for testability.
• Check integrations between apps, video players, advertising platforms and third-party systems.
• Investigate faults using logs, network traces, debugging tools and analysis of ad requests, ad responses and tracking behaviour.
• Manage defects from investigation and triage through to resolution, working with engineering teams.
• Support release readiness, production validation and go-live activities, including reviewing the Definition of Done with your squad.
• Report on test execution and progress, and give clear updates to Test Leads and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Essential: ISTQB Foundation certification.
• Essential: proven experience writing, maintaining and running test cases, test packs and defects, with full coverage of business and technical requirements.
• Essential: strong test analysis skills using APIs, JSON, XML, logs, network traces and debugging tools such as Charles Proxy.
• Essential: experience testing across mobile, web, streaming and connected TV devices.
• Essential: experience validating complex integrations across applications, third-party suppliers and backend services, including functional, integration, system, regression and end-to-end testing.
• Essential: experience using Jira and Zephyr or similar test management tools, and owning several test workstreams in an Agile environment.
• Desirable: experience testing OTT, streaming, video or media platforms.
• Desirable: knowledge of Ad Tech ecosystems, including DAI, CSAI, SSAI, programmatic advertising and audience targeting.
• Desirable: experience with advertising and measurement platforms such as FreeWheel, AdServe, DV360, TTD, Beeswax or similar.
• Desirable: knowledge of video and advertising standards such as HLS, DASH, VAST, VMAP and SCTE.
• Desirable: experience supporting production releases, launch readiness, production validation and operational support.
• Desirable: experience with monitoring and log analysis tools such as CloudWatch, Splunk, Kibana or similar.
• Desirable: understanding of GDPR, consent management and privacy-focused advertising solutions.
• Desirable: basic scripting, automation or test tooling experience, such as Python.

Conditions

Hybrid working, with 2 days per week in the office.

Your base is the Osterley campus, the company's group headquarters.

Free onsite parking is available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

The campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane station, and free shuttle buses run from Osterley, Gunnersbury and Ealing Broadway stations.
