Tendering Engineer

Description

You will lead technical strategy for complex grid solutions as Lead Technical Tendering Engineer in the Renewables Grid Solutions team, based in Sesto San Giovanni (Italy) or Zamudio (Spain).

Its Electrification business modernises grids, connects renewables and strengthens energy systems, from software to power conversion and storage.

You will own the full Inquiry to Order (ITO) process, turning complex technical and commercial requirements into competitive offers that suit customers and the company's global standards.

You will be the link between customer needs and the company's engineering and operations capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Run the whole tender, from reviewing the initial specification to submitting the final technical and commercial offer.
• Write solution architectures, technical descriptions and compliance documents that show what each offering is worth to the customer.
• Work with Operations, Manufacturing, Finance and Sales so offers are accurate, cost-effective and workable in production.
• Review Terms & Conditions and align them with internal standards and risk levels to build sound commercial strategies.
• Give technical support in customer presentations and bid clarifications to improve the win rate.
• Manage handover to execution after award so every project requirement is captured.

Requirements

• Technical background with a strong focus on customer-facing engineering.
• Ability to turn complex electrical and substation control systems into clear, persuasive technical proposals.
• Ability to handle several priorities at once, working largely on your own with close attention to detail.
• Understanding of electricity transmission, distribution and industrial markets, plus experience with protection relays and substation automation.
• Skill in working across multicultural business settings and building lasting customer relationships.
• Genuine interest in technical innovation and operational excellence.
• Fluency in Italian and English.
• Any additional language is a plus (for example Spanish, French, Romanian or Portuguese).
• A degree or formal education in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field is required, but total experience and proven results in technical tendering matter most.

Conditions

Permanent position based at the Sesto San Giovanni (Italy) (Spain) office.

Hybrid working model, combining office and home work.

Flexible working up to 10 working days per month for eligible roles.

Weekly hours: 38.5 for white-collar and non-shift blue-collar staff; 38 for shift blue-collar staff.

The role is classified under the Chimico-Farmaceutico National Collective Bargaining Agreement (NCBA), with company supplements noted below.

Gross pay range of €48,600 to €73,000 per year; the exact offer depends on education, qualifications, experience and skills.

Relocation assistance is not provided.
