You would join MCSL, a Banyan portfolio company that has built higher-education software since 1996. It started by implementing Banner systems for colleges and universities and later built FAST (Fast Administrative Support Tools), a web-based reporting and analytics platform that works alongside major ERPs such as Ellucian Banner and Oracle PeopleSoft. Colleges and universities in Canada, the US and Australia use FAST to produce more than 20 million reports a year, and MCSL reports a 98% client retention rate.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems for higher-education clients in their own environments
• Write and modify Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code to resolve client issues, then port those fixes into MCSL's development environment when necessary
• Build custom development work for clients when needed
• Communicate problems, fixes and next steps in clear terms to client stakeholders
• Partner with the Technical Solutions lead and gradually take on a larger share of the team's client workload
• Pick up MCSL's broader stack (ASP.NET, Visual Studio, JavaScript) as the work calls for it

Requirements

• Required: 3, 5 years of hands-on development with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including writing and changing code, not just support or triage
• Required: strong spoken and written communication, with comfort working directly with clients
• Required: ability to work 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time
• Strongly preferred: experience with Ellucian Banner, technical or functional
• Exposure to ASP.NET, Visual Studio or JavaScript
• Experience in higher education or with university and college clients
• A broad technical background and a record of learning new languages and tools quickly
• Interest in growing into the role and taking on more responsibility over time

Conditions

Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time

Full-time, permanent position

Fully remote within Canada, with Pacific Time preferred

Base salary of $70,000 to $85,000 CAD, depending on experience
