Description

The company is a global leader in materials science and engineering, supplying the equipment behind nearly every new semiconductor chip and advanced display made worldwide.

The equipment it builds and services supports AI and speeds the commercial launch of next-generation chips.

This role leads research, development, and engineering programs in the metal deposition service business unit, which supports the installed base of semiconductor customers.

The lead will manage service product development, digital twin and fleet validation work, and parallel development between the business unit and the service group across the metal deposition and ALD product lines.

You will work with business unit engineering, service teams, field organizations, supply chain, marketing, sales, finance, legal, and external partners so service needs shape products early.

You will help run segment and functional plans, contribute to strategy, and report program progress, risks, and status to senior leaders and key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Lead R&D and engineering program management for metal deposition service products across the metal deposition and ALD portfolio.
  • Run service product development process execution across priority platforms, keeping deliverables, readiness milestones, risks, and dependencies owned and governed tightly.
  • Bring serviceability, reliability, field readiness, and lifecycle support needs into business unit development early.
  • Plan, validate, deploy, and drive field adoption of digital tools and fleet validation to improve digital service and installed-base performance.
  • Support EPIC delivery by running business unit and service product development in parallel.
  • Lead customer application analysis and service product work that leads to smooth new product introduction and field uptake.
  • Own on-time delivery, cost control, quality, and execution of new service products and technologies that meet customer commitments, operating plans, and service growth goals.
  • Lead project management practices, product lifecycle processes, continuous improvement programs, engineering change orders, and similar execution tools.
  • Support quality, productivity, and sustaining engineering work with customers, field teams, operations, and cross-functional partners.
  • Work with strategic sourcing and supply chain to meet new product sourcing needs and supplier readiness.
  • Lead sampling and field quality processes with field commercial staff and customer-facing teams.
  • Turn field learning, validation results, customer feedback, and service data into recommendations for product design, service strategy, and digital capability.
  • Share RD&E progress, execution status, risks, and decisions needed with senior executives and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • A higher degree in science or engineering, such as materials science, mechanical, chemical, electrical engineering, or physics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of materials, deposition, plasma, semiconductor systems, and related equipment, including PVD, CVD, and ALD.
  • Proven new product introduction experience, with a clear record of execution, customer impact, and cross-functional delivery.
  • Strong program management, product lifecycle management, and service product development experience.
  • Customer focus, Voice of Customer skills, and the ability to turn customer and field needs into clear product and service requirements.
  • Ability to manage and deliver against several KPIs and program milestones.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to influence cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, marketing, strategy, operations, engineering, service, and senior management.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey confidence, humility, clarity, and urgency.
  • Hands-on, positive, entrepreneurial approach that builds support for RD&E needs and aligns stakeholders.
  • Strong personal time management, project management, prioritization, and execution discipline.
  • MS or PhD preferred.
  • Semiconductor applications and service business experience preferred, especially with advanced integrated process equipment or installed-base service products.
  • Experience with digital tools, fleet validation, AI, automation, predictive analytics, equipment health monitoring, or digital service deployment preferred.
