Technical Project Manager (Embedded)

Responsibilities

• Take embedded products from concept and design through validation to production release.
• Build and maintain detailed plans covering schedules, budgets, resourcing, and risk mitigation.
• Monitor progress, spot likely blockers, and drive corrective actions to keep work on track.
• Coordinate hardware, software, mechanical, PCB layout, component engineering, production test, and certification teams.
• Run Agile processes and keep engineering work aligned with business goals.
• Work with Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production Test, and external suppliers to get products launched.
• Handle project communication, status reporting, and stakeholder expectations at every level.
• Direct the work of external vendors, contractors, and offshore development partners where needed.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of product development methods and efficiency.
• Take part in stage-gate reviews and confirm readiness for key milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent field, preferred.
• At least 6 years of project or program management experience.
• PMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM certification, desired.
• Experience setting up or improving product development processes.
• Experience taking embedded products from concept to production.
• Experience working with teams that use Agile development.
• Experience building detailed plans with schedules, budgets, risk mitigation, and staffing.
• Experience planning projects across quality, supply chain, production, production test, and offshore board houses.
• Experience managing external and offshore contractors, desired.
• Familiarity with ISO development processes and procedures, desired.
• Familiarity with a gate model development environment, a plus.
• Familiarity with development activities in hardware, software, mechanical, layout, component engineering, production test, and certification.
