Technical Presales Consultant (HPE)

Description

The role is a technical presales position focused on HPE. You are a certified engineer with specialist knowledge of one or more vendors and technologies, sitting within a business unit that supports the sales organisation and partner base.

You work with partners and internal and external sales teams to define solutions and projects.

Responsibilities

• Help shape vendor solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Deliver high-quality service and meet agreed customer service level agreements (SLAs).
• Produce accurate bills of materials on time using internal and vendor tools, for resellers, their customers and other sales teams.
• Own the Request Manager resolver group assigned to you.
• Reply quickly to questions and customer care issues.
• Explain product and technology information to internal and external audiences.
• Handle product and solution enquiries from internal sales teams and resellers.
• Work with sales teams to define repeatable solutions for stock and inventory planning.
• Understand and apply vendor promotions.
• Keep peer-level technical contacts at the assigned vendor.
• Build the technical knowledge needed for your product or technology group and earn any vendor accreditations required.
• Support the Business Solution Centre (BSC) in sales activity and in raising partner utilisation rates.
• Optionally deliver basic post-sales implementation services.
• Build product knowledge to a competent technical level, in line with vendor and business expectations.

Requirements

• Certification across one or more vendors.
• Clear, polished delivery of customer presentations.
• Strong commercial awareness.
• Good written and spoken communication.
• Careful attention to detail, with strong priority management and planning.
• Business skills to run professional meetings and engagements.
• Knowledge of the IT industry, including channel, vendors, competitors and end users. This is desirable but not mandatory, depending on the seniority of the role.
