Description

The company's Technical Business Systems Analysts work alongside business and technical stakeholders to shape complex solutions, lead design work, and confirm that what gets delivered fits real business needs.

Projects range from custom digital product builds to large integration, modernization, and enterprise transformation efforts that cross several systems, technologies, and business lines.

The role suits someone who works between business and technology, is comfortable with uncertainty, and approaches problems the way a consultant would.

You will turn business goals into technical requirements, work closely with architects and engineers, and help teams handle complex systems, integrations, and data.

You stay hands-on through the whole delivery cycle, moving teams from unclear problems to sound, scalable, maintainable solutions.

You learn clients' business issues, processes, and technology quickly so you can advise them as a trusted subject-matter partner.

Career paths are varied and built around your skills and interests, with work that stretches you.

The company is a consulting firm that helps clients use technology to reach their goals. Its clients include Fortune 100 companies, mid-sized enterprises, and government agencies across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key contributor on cross-functional teams in every phase, from discovery through delivery and validation.
  • Lead requirements gathering through interviews, workshops, and working sessions to uncover needs and pin down what the solution must do.
  • Convert business objectives into detailed functional and technical requirements that feed architecture, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Work with architects, engineers, and product teams on design, including data models, API and integration needs, interface definitions, and system workflows.
  • Examine current data structures, data quality, and business impact, and help define how data will support the future state.
  • Document data mappings, business rules, system interactions, and upstream and downstream dependencies for integrations.
  • Balance business and technical views so solutions are useful, usable, scalable, and maintainable.
  • Assess current processes and systems, define the desired future state with stakeholders, run gap analysis, and recommend options.
  • Write and refine epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items within an Agile team.
  • Coordinate integration testing, system testing, and user acceptance testing, including requirements traceability and validation.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, assumptions, and impacts across processes, systems, and integrations.
  • Communicate with technical teams, business stakeholders, and executives, tailoring your message to each audience.

Requirements

  • 3-10+ years as a Business Systems Analyst, Technical Architect, or similar role on IT initiatives and enterprise-scale solution delivery.
  • Consulting experience, or a proven ability to work in a client-facing advisory role.
  • Hands-on work on multi-system implementations, enterprise applications, and complex integrations.
  • Experience working with software development teams across the full delivery lifecycle.
  • Experience building process flows, data flows, sequence diagrams, system context diagrams, or other visuals that explain business and technical solutions.
  • Experience defining business rules, writing user stories, developing acceptance criteria, and managing requirements in Agile settings.
  • Solid grasp of enterprise integration patterns, APIs, data flows, and modern cloud architectures.
  • Able to write and run SQL queries for analysis, troubleshooting, validation, and testing.
  • Experience with data analysis, data mapping, and requirements traceability across several systems.
  • Strong written and spoken communication, with the ability to work well with technical and non-technical people.
  • Proficient with delivery and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent mix of education and experience.
  • Preferred: experience supporting digital product development and product-centric delivery.
  • Preferred: experience in regulated sectors such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, financial services, healthcare, or public sector.
  • Preferred: knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Salesforce, or other enterprise business platforms.
  • Preferred: experience with cloud modernization, application modernization, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Preferred: familiarity with system architecture, object-oriented design, or software engineering practices.
