Description

The company has spent more than 25 years working on computer graphics, PC gaming, and accelerated computing, and is now applying AI to shape the next generation of computing, where its GPUs serve as the processing core for computers, robots, and self-driving cars.

The GPU Firmware Infrastructure team builds the automation, tools, and practices that help the company's GPU firmware work move faster. The team owns the foundation: developer tools, build compute, test farms, artifact and release pipelines, secure signing services, and the observability that shows whether all of it works. Faster, more reliable platforms mean every product ships sooner.

The role suits someone who gets more satisfaction from removing a manual task than from doing it, and who naturally builds tools and finds creative fixes for their team. You would help teams building firmware for the company's GPUs by using AI, scripts, workflow changes, and documentation to automate work. The team works on the systems behind its AI supercomputers.

Responsibilities

  • Build, maintain, and improve the core infrastructure that firmware teams depend on, including build systems, regression farms, CI/CD pipelines, developer tooling, and the frameworks and web services built on them.
  • Troubleshoot problems across hardware, software, infrastructure, and team processes, fixing the underlying cause so the whole category of issue stops recurring.
  • Design and build AI-driven workflows that scale, increasing output for yourself, your team, or the whole company.
  • Document, learn, and automate processes, services, and tooling for internal and external teams across many projects.
  • Find manual toil across the company and turn improvement ideas from prototypes into fully shipped, scalable solutions.

Requirements

  • A BS or MS in EE, CS, or CE, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in software, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD and test automation, including designing and debugging pipelines and working within test orchestration frameworks such as pytest or equivalent.
  • Experience with, or a strong interest in, device BIOS, firmware, or other low-level embedded software, and a desire to build tools for the engineers who write it.
  • A solid grasp of the services and data behind infrastructure, including web services, REST APIs, and relational databases with schema design (SQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Ability to think about scalability.
  • Strong Python skills and comfort working in Linux shell environments.
  • Strong communication skills: you ask pointed questions, write clear requirements, review work critically, and explain trade-offs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and empathy, plus the curiosity to work closely with hardware and software engineers on designing, building, and debugging process and tooling improvements.
  • Nice to have: a sense of humor, though it is not required.
  • Nice to have: a side project, open source contribution, or internal tool you built because something frustrated you.
  • Nice to have: a track record of writing technical proposals, design docs, or architecture decisions that others acted on without further direction.
  • Nice to have: experience with containers, orchestration, or infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Kubernetes (K8s).
  • Nice to have: experience with AI-assisted development tools, including judging when their output can be trusted, when to check it closely, and when to discard it.
