Thanks for your interest in working on our team!

We are looking for a System Verification Engineer II to join our SVT ETH team in Gdynia. You will verify complete hardware and software solutions – Carrier Ethernet and Access & Aggregation routers and switches – before they go live in operators' networks.

The role combines network engineering, system-level testing, hands-on lab work, troubleshooting and test automation. You will build realistic end-to-end and multivendor topologies, check product behavior against requirements and industry standards, and work closely with development teams to find root causes and get releases ready for our customers.

SVT ETH is part of ADTRAN's System Verification organization. Our team of 8 engineers in Gdynia works closely with R&D, System Integration Test and Technical Support colleagues across Europe and the US. In our lab you get hands-on access to carrier-grade equipment from ADTRAN and other vendors, together with professional traffic generators and analyzers.

Technologies you'll work with

You don't need to know all of them on day one – we will help you learn the rest.

Carrier Ethernet, Metro Ethernet, Access & Aggregation networks

Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 routing: IPv4/IPv6, OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, BFD

Service-provider technologies: MPLS, IPVPN/L3VPN, EVPN, PTP/SyncE

Python and Robot Framework for test automation

Ixia/Keysight, Spirent and Viavi traffic generators and analyzers

Linux and Windows lab environments

Responsibilities

  • Analyze product requirements, standards and customer scenarios, and turn them into test plans and test cases.
  • Design, build and maintain complex test topologies – and the lab infrastructure behind them – with ADTRAN and third-party routers, switches and traffic generators.
  • Run system-level, end-to-end, interoperability, regression and customer-specific tests.
  • Combine manual and automated testing, and automate where it adds the most value.
  • Report defects, narrow down root causes and work with developers until fixes are verified.
  • Document test procedures, configurations and results in our test management system.
  • Improve test coverage, tools and ways of working, and share your knowledge with less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in network testing, system or integration testing, or network engineering.
  • Degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science or a related field – or equivalent practical experience.
  • Solid understanding of Ethernet and TCP/IP, with hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting routed and switched networks on at least one major vendor platform (e.g. Cisco, Juniper, Nokia, Huawei, Arista).
  • Good written and spoken English (at least B2).
  • Ability to design test scenarios, read logs and packet captures, and systematically narrow down complex failures.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and the command line.
  • Experience reporting and tracking bugs and working with developers on troubleshooting.
  • Analytical mindset, ownership, attention to detail and a team-player attitude.
  • CCNA/CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS or comparable knowledge.
  • Familiarity with IEEE, ITU-T, IETF RFC or MEF specifications.
  • Experience with traffic generators and protocol analysers i.e Ixia/Keysight, Spirent or Viavi
  • Hands-on experience with MPLS, EVPN, IPVPN/L3VPN, RSVP-TE, PTP or SyncE.
  • Test or network automation with Python, Robot Framework, APIs or NETCONF/YANG.
  • Multivendor interoperability testing, proof-of-concept, demo or field-trial experience.
