Description

You will be an individual contributor on the State Estimation team inside the SEAM Embodied AI organization, working on localization and sensor calibration for autonomous driving.

Your work determines where the vehicle is in the world and sets every sensor's parameters so other vehicle subsystems can rely on them.

You will join critical technical efforts, partner with cross-functional teams and senior engineers, and help shape the onboard autonomous driving stack.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deploy state estimation, localization, and sensor calibration solutions.
  • Lead and architect infrastructure that validates localization and sensor calibration, and that monitors localization performance on vehicles in the field.
  • Build continuous integration components, including regression test suites and simulation scenarios, to keep software quality high.
  • Own internal tools the teams use to prototype new approaches, debug problems seen on real vehicles, and speed up test infrastructure.
  • Work with other engineering groups to integrate localization, sensor alignment, and related functions into the autonomous vehicle system.
  • Help set the technical roadmap so it matches company goals and product milestones.

Requirements

  • Must-have: A master's or bachelor's of science in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Must-have: At least 2 years of experience developing and deploying software for real-time systems and/or cloud infrastructure; senior roles need at least 3 years.
  • Must-have: At least 1 year of background in state estimation and/or sensor calibration.
  • Must-have: Strong software skills, especially in C++ and Python, with extensive hands-on experience using development, integration, and testing tools.
  • Must-have: Clear communication and teamwork, with the ability to influence technical strategy and raise engineering standards across the organization.
  • Nice-to-have: A master's or bachelor's of science in robotics, computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related technical field.
  • Nice-to-have: At least 3 years of experience developing and deploying software for real-time systems and/or cloud infrastructure.
  • Nice-to-have: Experience in AV or ADAS work is a strong plus.

Conditions

Pay is a good-faith estimate based on what a successful applicant might earn under applicable state law; figures may not apply to roles outside the California Bay Area.
