Description

The company is a legal data intelligence firm that builds AI-powered cloud software for handling large volumes of complex information in litigation, investigations, regulatory inquiries, and data breach responses.

Its customers include major law firms, corporations, and government agencies.

The company's design system is moving to UX, and the team is building its next generation.

The framework is chosen and the first components exist. The library ships through the micro frontend.

Engineers use AI tools to design, optimize, and ship software, and the platform evolves continuously on cloud-native architecture and modern tooling.

The team practices continuous delivery, has strong observability, and expects engineers to own their work end to end.

Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the library's architecture, covering module format, packaging, peer dependencies, publishing to Artifactory and the CDN, and how two library versions run together on one page under micro frontends.
  • Write the versioning, deprecation, and breaking-change rules for a library that more than 60 repositories rely on, and design the migration path that brings them across.
  • Decide the build, release, and testing approach, including automated visual regression and a token pipeline that stops design and code from diverging.
  • Structure the library so AI coding agents can consume it correctly, producing frontend code that meets compliance and accessibility rules without manual review.
  • Set the accessibility standard for the platform, check conformance in the pipeline instead of after release, and help meet the compliance requirements customers demand.
  • Run reliability and incident response for the new library and the legacy ones, and create the severity and escalation model the team currently lacks.
  • Solve complex problems that cross teams, using deep technical knowledge, collaboration, and hands-on coding.
  • Raise frontend engineering standards across teams through design and code reviews, shared patterns, written standards, and coaching, and keep technical work aligned with product direction and delivery dates.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years building and running frontend systems that other engineering teams depend on.
  • Proven technical leadership across several teams or domains.
  • Solid grounding in architecture, security, and reliability at scale.
  • Ability to set technical direction and align teams you do not manage.
  • Experience turning business goals into a technical plan.
  • Track record of influencing people without formal authority.
  • Strong skills in mentoring and explaining technical ideas.
  • Deep experience with React and TypeScript.
  • Experience owning build and release tooling for a published package, not only using one.
  • Deep knowledge of semantic HTML, CSS, and accessible component patterns.
  • Working knowledge of algorithms, automation, debugging, distributed systems, performance tuning, problem solving, project management, software development, system design, and technical leadership.
  • Preferred: You have built and maintained a design system that several teams rely on.
  • Preferred: Fluency with AI development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.
  • Preferred: Experience planning a design system migration that teams will follow, including handling pushback and changes that break them.
  • Preferred: Ability to explain packaging choices to a designer and design choices to a platform engineer.
  • Preferred: You have set an accessibility standard that other teams adopted, with automated validation.
  • Preferred: Experience modernizing a large legacy frontend system.
