Description

The company sends messages to its community by email, SMS and mobile app, and this contract role focuses on building and launching that messaging.

The company is growing and runs several brands, and the team needs someone to execute campaigns by hand rather than plan them.

You will work with developers and marketers to turn customer journeys into messages that are accurate, well timed and consistent with each brand.

Responsibilities

  • Build, test and deploy email, SMS and in-app campaigns with hand-coded HTML and CSS that follow responsive design practices.
  • Turn Figma or other design files into polished templates that display correctly across email clients.
  • Write personalization logic in templating languages such as Liquid, Jinja or Handlebars to drive dynamic and variable content.
  • Support API-driven and transactional messaging flows alongside Martech and developers.
  • Maintain and improve the modular template system so brand templates scale.
  • Own thorough QA across devices, platforms and segmentation logic so campaigns perform as intended.
  • Set up and check complex audience segments, including behavior-based, transactional and loyalty triggers.
  • Document technical processes, platform quirks and testing methods so the team can share knowledge and plan ahead.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years in CRM production, lifecycle marketing operations, or email and SMS campaign development.
  • At least 1 year building dynamic HTML and CSS emails and mobile messages in Braze, using content blocks, segment builder and canvas.
  • Advanced HTML and CSS for email, including responsive layouts and media queries.
  • Experience with templating languages such as Liquid, Jinja or Handlebars for logic-based content.
  • Comfort with API-powered flows, transactional use cases and dynamic payloads.
  • A careful, methodical approach to testing with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well with marketers, designers and engineers.
  • Clear communication and disciplined organization and documentation habits.
