The company builds API infrastructure that connects hotels, online travel agencies, fintechs, super-apps and other businesses, including some entering travel for the first time, so they can ship dependable travel products with less effort. Founded in 2017, it aims to simplify a fragmented travel market with simple, scalable, API-first tools, often described as Stripe for Travel.

The company has teams in London, New York, San Francisco, Palma de Mallorca and Casablanca. Its customers include Hopper, Priceline, Google and Uber, and it works with Revolut, Grab and Sabre.

Investors include Accel and leaders from Booking.com, Stripe and Shopify. The company was profitable before it raised a $48M Series A led by Accel, and it has grown 10x since 2022.

The company is targeting the $9.9tn travel industry, starting with the $75 billion B2B hotel market, and is adding AI-powered features to its platform.

You would be one of the first engineers in the new Field Engineering team, working with Account Management on the technical issues behind growth at the largest enterprise accounts. Changes for a specific account can go live the same day, and you can see right away whether the numbers move.

Responsibilities

• Work across the travel marketplace, including pricing, inventory, hotel mapping and booking systems, to find what limits performance.
• Follow problems across services rather than staying within one, tracing issues through backend services, APIs, data flows and external dependencies, then build the fixes yourself.
• Decide which engineering changes will make the biggest difference, ship them, and measure their effect on bookings, market share and margin.
• Take an approach that has already delivered results for a major partner to more accounts, and help shape how the function scales.
• Turn solutions that work into reusable platform capabilities, and help develop the team's playbook.
• Address questions such as why bookings go to competing suppliers, how to keep a rate shown in search available when the customer books, how better prebook and recovery mechanisms can raise successful transactions, and which account solutions should become shared capabilities.

Requirements

• Staff-level software engineer who writes code hands-on and has built complex production systems.
• Has taken ambiguous engineering problems from diagnosis through to production and measured the impact.
• Understands how technical decisions affect customers, product performance and commercial outcomes.
• Explains complex technical topics clearly and works well with Product and commercial teams.
• Experience with marketplaces, pricing, transactional platforms or complex API products is particularly relevant.
• Go experience is a plus, but not required for experienced engineers.
• Travel industry experience is not necessary.

Conditions

Remote in Europe, or hybrid in Barcelona, Dublin, London or Palma.
