The company brings together advanced technology and live sports data to give fans more immersive, interactive and personalised experiences.
The team that builds the digital match capture products sits within the Data & AI product group and works with major global sports leagues such as the NBA, EPL and NFL.
Responsibilities
Lead the products that capture, process and deliver tracking data to teams, leagues and external developers worldwide.
Own positional tracking for first-party and third-party use cases across the full lifecycle, from early ideas and discovery through build, launch and ongoing improvement.
Find chances to lead the market by improving positional tracking and decide how match capture can create the most value for the Genius portfolio and its customers.
Positional tracking underpins the company's tracking-based products, including performance, officiating, automated data collection, media visualisations and digital recreation.
Help define what comes next in match capture, where positional tracking, computer vision, digital twins and 3D capture overlap.
Run prototypes and early deployments with engineers and partners, learn what works, and bring the strongest ideas into the core platform.
Build and maintain a clear, prioritised roadmap, and communicate it to internal and external stakeholders.
Treat application product managers as customers, balance first-party and third-party needs, and define interfaces that keep the platform unified.
Gather needs from teams, leagues, external developers and application teams, and turn them into requirements.
Own live-operations quality and reliability alongside new capabilities.
Work with computer vision, systems and data platform engineers, downstream product managers, match and venue operations, design and business teams to deliver on time and on budget.
Decide which new capture ideas to scale and which to stop, based on evidence from prototypes, early deployments and customer feedback.
Set long-term investment direction using data, weighing trade-offs with cross-divisional partners.
Split investment across three horizons: Now (0-12 months), Next (12-36 months) and Future (36+ months), balancing incremental gains with longer-term innovation.
Define KPIs, build dashboards and make decisions from both qualitative and quantitative analysis.
Support commercial, marketing and operations teams in go-to-market work with product expertise.
Mentor less experienced product managers and improve product practice across the team.
Keep up with computer vision tracking, real-time data platforms, new capture techniques and competitor offerings.

Solid understanding of the product lifecycle, including discovery, analysis, OKRs, ideation, prioritisation and measurable delivery.
Experience leading complex cross-functional programmes with engineering, operations and downstream product teams, influencing without formal authority.
Enough technical depth to work with computer vision, systems and data platform engineers on real-time products, and to move between technical detail and commercial trade-offs.
Ability to bring clarity to technically ambiguous areas where positional tracking, 3D capture, digital twins and real-time systems overlap.
Excellent written and verbal communication, including presenting to leadership and supporting commercial conversations.
Experience delivering products or services in an agile or lean setting, including managing a backlog of user stories, epics and bugs.
Skill in turning product requirements into a practical, prioritised roadmap.
Track record of mentoring product managers or otherwise raising product practice around you.
