Description

The company is a live-entertainment discovery platform that helps millions of people each month find events in their cities. It combines technology, data and creative work across hundreds of cities and works with event creators and partners.

The Data and AI team is building a new group of Design Engineers. They will design and build across all of the company's products, B2C and B2B, using data to guide each decision.

The role covers the full path of a project, from understanding the problem to defining a solution and designing it carefully. Some projects end as a finished design. Others move into code, either as a working prototype or as a production-ready feature you ship yourself. You choose the right approach for each problem.

Responsibilities

  • Work on high-impact projects such as discovery surfaces (including the feed and the AI-powered assistant), reports and decision-making tools for partners and internal teams, immersive funnels, and new initiatives that grow the business and raise product quality.
  • Define problems with users and product managers, decide what is worth building, and test your own hypotheses with data using SQL, dashboards and metrics.
  • Design and prototype interfaces for any product, B2C or B2B, held to a high standard of craft.
  • Where it makes sense, turn designs into code, from working prototypes to production-ready features, and work with engineers through GitHub and the development and production environments.
  • Use AI daily to explore more ideas, build prototypes and work faster.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in product design, with a strong background and solid front-end knowledge.
  • Product mindset: you start from user problems, business needs and impact rather than features, and you can explain the trade-offs you make.
  • Strong design taste: a polished eye and high craft, shown in a portfolio that explains the reasoning behind the work.
  • Solid front-end skills: HTML, CSS, responsive layouts, design systems, JavaScript or TypeScript, and a modern framework such as React. Comfortable with Git, pull requests and dev and prod environments.
  • Comfortable with SQL, dashboards and metrics to test ideas and make decisions.
  • Enjoy technology and building software, and want to understand why things work the way they do.
  • Use AI well: you verify its output, protect sensitive data and never ship code you do not understand.
  • A portfolio is required, showing your product thinking, design craft and what you have built, including front-end work where relevant. Applications without one will not be considered.
  • Experience designing data-heavy products or building with LLMs is a plus.
  • Side projects that show what you build for fun are a plus.
