Description

The company builds autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors that help the U.S. and its Allies hold superiority in space, which the role treats as a warfighting domain.

The team is looking for people who are ambitious and able to build the technology that secures that environment.

The company's culture centers on innovation and speed.

In this role you will work through every stage of a spacecraft program, from design and analysis through manufacturing, test, and flight.

  • Work with the ground C2 software team.
  • Help define and maintain the Command Telemetry Database (CDTB) used for ground testing, on-orbit testing, and missions.
  • Support the creation of command scripts and spacecraft sequences.
  • Help design and build satellite subsystem model simulators for HITL and SITL environments.
  • Write reusable device drivers, interfaces, and communications protocol libraries for flight hardware.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field, plus 6+ years working on low-level firmware architecture, design, and development.
  • Experience building low-level device drivers and working on safety-critical systems.
  • Experience with an embedded RTOS such as RTLinux or Azure RTOS.
  • Working knowledge of common protocols such as Ethernet, SPI, I2C, CAN, RS422, RS485, and similar.
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Python.
  • Able to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
  • Preferred: 12+ years developing and/or producing flight software for space applications.
  • Preferred: Able to maintain or obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • Preferred: Proven experience and discipline with version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with embedded Linux.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with networking protocols such as UDP and TCP/IP.
  • Preferred: Comfortable with standard embedded tools, including compilers, debuggers, and IDEs.
  • Preferred: Broad experience with microcontrollers, application processors, and revision control systems.
  • Preferred: Strong debugging skills using instruments such as oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers.
  • Preferred: Application experience in areas such as robotics, automation, motor control, and sensor fusion.
