Description

The company needs a hands-on SAP developer to modernize a complex SAP landscape during a large S/4HANA transformation.

You will work in an established internal development team with a strong engineering focus, alongside internal architects and technical experts from the company's system integration partner.

The role is not about closing tickets. You will need real technical depth and take ownership of work from design through to production.

Responsibilities

  • Move ECC custom developments over to SAP S/4HANA.
  • Design and build RICEFW objects such as reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms and workflows.
  • Apply clean-core principles and choose suitable SAP S/4HANA extensibility options.
  • Work with the internal development team, functional consultants and technical architects.
  • Question requirements that are unclear and propose practical solutions that are easy to maintain.
  • Take responsibility for delivery from technical design through testing, cutover and production.
  • Help shape technical standards and reusable solutions, and share your knowledge with others.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
  • Experience working alongside functional, technical, testing and business teams.
  • Experience delivering solutions through testing, cutover and production deployment.
  • Strong core ABAP skills: ABAP Objects, modern ABAP, Open SQL, debugging, performance tuning and ABAP Development Tools (ADT).
  • Experience with S/4HANA transformation work: custom-code remediation, SAP Simplification Items, ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC), clean-core principles and S/4HANA extensibility.
  • Practical experience with several modern application technologies, such as Core Data Services (CDS), RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), OData, SAP Fiori, and Custom Fields and Logic.
  • Experience with SAP Business Workflow, Flexible Workflow, Adobe Forms or SAP S/4HANA Output Management.
  • Experience with IDocs, Business Application Programming Interfaces (BAPIs), APIs, proxies or web services.
  • Experience with at least one SAP S/4HANA implementation, conversion or modernization program.
  • An independent, accountable approach to delivery.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confidence to challenge unclear requirements and suggest better solutions.
  • Clear communication across technical, functional and business teams.
  • Ability to research SAP documentation, SAP Notes and recommended practices.

  • Nice to have: Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Post Processing Framework (PPF).
  • Nice to have: experience using SAP Change Request Management (ChaRM), SAP Cloud ALM, SEALM, Jama or similar platforms.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of Sales and Distribution (SD), Materials Management (MM), Quality Management (QM), Warehouse Management (WM), Financial Accounting (FI) or Production Planning (PP).
  • Nice to have: Good Practice (GxP) or other regulated delivery experience.
  • The company's total rewards aim to give you room for growth and flexibility, with salary and benefits described as competitive for a large global organization, and career opportunities in a supportive culture.
