Description

The role sits in the Digital Platforms subdomain and aims to connect SAP, data platforms and future AI and agentic capabilities through one integration and API strategy across the company's digital landscape.

The team solves common problems once and builds platforms around how digital technology engineers work, so product teams can move faster with less friction.

The team works through agile practices and regular leadership syncs, with a hybrid rhythm.

This is a Senior Manager Specialist level position. You will be the first Staff Engineer in Digital Platforms and help shape the role alongside engineering leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical direction for SAP integration and API strategy across several product teams.
  • Act as the link between Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers and product teams, translating strategy into execution and execution back into strategy.
  • Help define the Staff Engineer role within Digital Platforms and across the wider engineering community, including ways of working and engineering standards.
  • Establish and evolve SAP integration and API strategies that support AI and agentic capabilities.
  • Align integration approaches with the data platform strategy.
  • Define how enterprise data models and APIs work together across the landscape.
  • Turn technical direction into clear, governed guidance, coordinated roadmaps and aligned deliveries.
  • Help manage the impact of the ERP move to S/4HANA over the next 12 to 18 months while shaping the future integration landscape.
  • Work with Principal Engineers, Lead Engineers, Product Teams, Product Managers and Engineering Directors.

Requirements

  • Have led technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
  • Have built API management capabilities and standards in complex technology environments.
  • Have led event streaming and event mesh implementations at scale.
  • Have shaped enterprise integration strategies, including SAP ecosystems.
  • Have applied Domain-Driven Design principles across product or platform landscapes.
  • Have turned technology strategy into execution through roadmaps, structured problem-solving and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Be AI-literate and curious about applying AI at scale.
  • Preferred: Have expanded SAP capabilities beyond integration-focused domains.
  • Preferred: Have experience modeling enterprise data models, including ontology-based approaches.
  • Preferred: Have developed developer experience or platform engineering capabilities.
  • Preferred: Have expertise with policy engines or authorization management in general.
