Description

The company makes memory and storage products, and the team is working on the next generation of AI-assisted workflows for custom memory development.

The role applies IC design, layout, verification, simulation, and design automation to find and deliver solutions that raise engineering productivity, quality, and cycle time.

The role starts from a strong CAD base and may grow into a broader AI-focused position over time.

Responsibilities

  • Build software, automation, and AI-assisted solutions that make IC design work across layout, verification, simulation, and tape-out faster.
  • Create and improve AI-assisted tools, agents, and automation that help engineers and design teams work more efficiently.
  • Work with design, layout, verification, and CAD teams around the world to find the automation and AI use cases with the most impact.
  • Build and maintain CAD tools, workflow integrations, and technical documentation for design teams.
  • Help evaluate, qualify, deploy, and integrate EDA tools and AI-enhanced workflows.
  • Test generative AI and machine learning methods on practical custom IC design and design enablement problems.
  • Apply sound software practices, including code quality, testing, maintainability, and documentation.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Strong Python skills and a record of writing maintainable technical software or automation, with familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, AI-assisted workflows, and/or agent-based automation.
  • Knowledge of CMOS design, custom layout, circuit verification, and semiconductor design fundamentals.
  • Preferred: experience with custom memory design (DDR, LPDDR, HBM, or NAND) and physical verification flows such as Calibre DRC, LVS, or LPE.
  • Preferred: experience with Cadence Virtuoso, SKILL, parameterized cells, or other custom design environments.
  • Preferred: experience with circuit simulation tools such as HSPICE or Spectre, and familiarity with digital verification concepts.
  • Preferred: experience building developer tools, command-line utilities, workflow integrations, or plugin-based tools, and familiarity with PyTorch or Scikit-learn.
  • Preferred: hands-on experience applying AI/ML, LLMs, or advanced automation to real engineering problems.
  • Preferred: experience integrating LLM APIs or related AI capabilities into engineering tools and workflows, and working in Linux with current software engineering practices.
  • Preferred, for Principal level consideration: significantly more experience in broader technical leadership.
