Description

The company is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies, from large enterprises to early-stage startups, use it to accept payments, grow revenue, and open new business opportunities. Its mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and the team sees a large amount of work ahead.

The Brand Studio team handles brand projects of many kinds, including brand standards, campaigns, events, in-person experiences, packaging, digital products, and printed publications. Designers on the team are multidisciplinary, building visual systems, art direction, and surfaces that tell the brand and product story.

The team works with other company teams and outside partners to improve the quality and consistency of the brand across in-person, virtual, and everything in between. It sets the creative vision and strategy for different projects and audiences and carries them across media, channels, objects, environments, and digital and physical experiences.

Creative Lab makes experimental, culturally relevant, carefully crafted projects that show the company's brand in unexpected ways. The team takes ambiguous briefs, often treats problems others call impossible as solvable, and works without a fixed playbook.

Responsibilities

  • Join a creative team that works across digital experiences, such as interactive games and live-streamed miniature cities, and physical activations, such as refitted CRT monitors and retired transit ticketing machines.
  • Generate original, strong concepts from vague briefs, strategic problems, cultural trends, and new opportunities.
  • Choose the right form for each idea and direct multidisciplinary collaborators to produce it across many media.
  • Write creative narratives, pitches, references, treatments, and prototypes that make an idea compelling before the final version exists.
  • Make things yourself. Be curious, experiment, tinker, iterate quickly, and push ideas, stories, and beautiful work further.
  • Balance design execution with the quality of the idea as equal priorities.
  • Work with a wide range of creative people with very different skills to build ideas that point toward an optimistic, progressive future.
  • Shape the strategic design vision that pushes the brand forward, and help people see what the company does and why it matters.
  • Work across cross-functional teams to develop strong ideas through hands-on making.
  • Give and receive feedback from teammates, agency partners, and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements: you must meet these to be considered, and you are encouraged to apply if you do. Preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
  • At least 8 years of relevant creative experience in developing and delivering ideas.
  • Experience creating and directing experimental work across different mediums, disciplines, and collaborators.
  • A proven record of delivering work on your own and shaping the work of other designers, contractors, and agencies.
  • Strong strategic thinking for building leading brands in a fast-moving, global environment.
  • Exceptional craft.
  • A portfolio that shows strong conceptual thinking and art direction across formats and disciplines.
  • Exceptional visual and cultural taste, with a wide range of references beyond design.
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • Curious, ambitious, and creative, with a fresh outlook on design, art, technology, and culture.
  • Persuasive and humble when explaining your work, process, and decisions, and skilled at helping stakeholders move a project forward while protecting design quality.
  • Excellent organization and presentation skills, with strong written and verbal communication.
  • Enjoy helping other designers learn and grow, and let them help you do the same.
  • Experience working in or alongside highly conceptual advertising, design, or cultural studios.
  • Experience working with cross-functional partners.
  • Proficient in the latest AI and creative tools.
  • Creative coding or creative technologist background is a nice to have.
