Sr. Visual Designer, MAI Creative Studio

The MAI Creative Studio is an agile, multidisciplinary team that values bold ideas, integrity, and a strong focus on the user. The team works across product, visual, and communication touchpoints and encourages each member to propose new ideas and keep expression simple and unified.

The studio is hiring a Senior Visual Designer to create and direct brand content across web, product, merchandise, video, and newer formats. The role covers both ideation and production, so you will make work yourself and also shape the creative direction for the team. You bring a sharp eye for craft and detail, draw on a wide range of creative influences, and offer a distinct point of view. You present ideas clearly and confidently to guide stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Create strong visual concepts that raise the quality of brand expression across formats
• Lead creative projects from initial concept through production and rollout
• Turn strategic goals into visual stories and narrative-led assets
• Build, maintain, and extend the brand identity and design system
• Make sure product and brand design stay cohesive across experiences
• Work with Producers to plan scope, schedule, and delivery of creative work
• Partner with Marketing, Product, Communications, and the wider MAI organization
• Present your work clearly and confidently to stakeholders at every level
• Use AI tools and emerging technologies to improve your creative output
• Keep a high standard for craft, detail, and execution on every deliverable

Requirements

• Required: a Master's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or a related field, plus 4+ years of experience in product or service design, or a Bachelor's degree in one of those fields plus 5+ years of experience in product or service design, or equivalent experience such as demonstrated product or service design work or using design thinking to solve problems
• Preferred: a Master's degree in one of the listed fields plus 6+ years of experience in product or service design, or a Bachelor's degree in one of those fields plus 8+ years of experience in product or service design, or equivalent experience as described above
• Preferred: 4+ years of experience shipping products, services, or games, or delivering to customers through an end-to-end design process
• Preferred: a portfolio or work samples showing at least 5 years of end-to-end creative solutions
• Preferred: ability to manage several projects and priorities and adapt quickly in a fast-moving, innovative environment
• Advanced graphic design and illustration skills, including typography, layout, and visual systems
• Proficiency in motion design tools such as After Effects, Premiere, or an equivalent
• Experience producing assets for digital and physical use, including web, product UI, print, merchandise, and environmental
• Ability to build and extend brand identity systems with consistency and precision
• Strong visual storytelling skills, including narrative sequencing and framing
• Experience using AI-assisted creative tools for concepting, iteration, and production
• Strong communication skills for explaining design rationale and working across disciplines
