Description

The company builds frontier AI models and products that reach millions of people, covering pretraining, post-training, evaluation and launch. The Technical Program Manager team is centralized and works embedded with the research, product and engineering groups it supports.

This role drives the data programs behind large-scale AI model pretraining. You will work closely with research and engineering to keep data release readiness on schedule across several concurrent workstreams that feed high-stakes training milestones.

The role is highly cross-functional. It suits someone who can bring order to unclear, fast-changing technical programs and who can work with a lot of independence.

Responsibilities

  • Run the full execution of several parallel data workstreams, tracking decisions, dependencies and action items until they are closed, and flagging and escalating risks early.
  • Prepare data and model releases by coordinating quality checks, approvals and sign-offs across the teams that contribute.
  • Take part in planning and manage stakeholders across engineering and research. Build the relationships needed to understand dependencies, follow them closely, and turn technical discussions into clear decisions, owners and concrete plans.
  • Share program status, risks and trade-offs with leadership and other stakeholders, adjusting the detail to each audience and offering recommendations, not only updates.
  • Create and improve the processes, tracking tools and review cycles that make unclear, fast-moving work repeatable.
  • Take a serious approach to legal and compliance questions around data use and licensing. Keep up with the changing policy landscape so you can work well with legal and compliance partners when needed.
  • Follow the competitive landscape and the wider AI industry, and use that context in setting priorities, assessing risk and planning.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of technical program or product management experience in a fast-paced technical organization.
  • A record of managing several complex, interdependent workstreams at the same time.
  • Solid technical understanding, enough to talk with engineers and researchers about data pipelines, systems or infrastructure without being a hands-on expert.
  • A resourceful, action-first way of solving problems. You find practical ways forward and keep work moving without waiting for complete information or a fully defined process.
  • Strong written and spoken communication. You can turn complicated, scattered information into clear, actionable guidance.
  • A history of earning trust and shaping outcomes across teams without formal authority.
  • Experience working largely on your own in ambiguous, rapidly changing environments.
  • Technical Program Management IC4. The typical base pay range across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. In the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, the base pay range is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
