Description

Role code FEQ427R444.

This is a senior expert role for the most complex customer engagements. You act as the lead technical authority on your accounts, set consumption strategy, and hold executive-level relationships. You also hold a declared technical specialization that multiplies your team's impact across the region.

The company is a data and AI firm. Over 20,000 organizations worldwide use its unified data and AI platform, including 70% of the Fortune 500. It is headquartered in San Francisco and has more than 30 offices globally.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical and consumption strategy for the largest customer engagements, shaping platform adoption and revenue growth.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior customer leaders on enterprise data and AI strategy.
  • Lead the hardest architecture work, including multi-workload platforms, company-wide migrations, real-time systems, and AI and ML at scale.
  • Mentor others as a platform expert and spread your specialization across the team.
  • Build competitive plans that position the company against incumbent and emerging platforms.
  • Coordinate cross-functional groups, including solutions architects, partners, and product teams, to deliver enterprise solutions.
  • Coach junior solutions architects (L3 to L5) on technical depth, customer engagement, and prioritizing use cases.
  • Contribute to the field engineering team's thought leadership through customer content, workshops, and community work.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in solutions architecture, principal engineering, technical pre-sales leadership, or a senior customer-facing technical role.
  • Expert-level coding in Python and SQL, ideally Spark or PySpark.
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise data architecture: distributed systems at scale, streaming and real-time processing, lakehouse patterns, data governance frameworks, and cloud-native platforms.
  • Expert-level knowledge of the company's platform, or equal depth in a competing platform with a record of learning quickly.
  • A declared technical specialization with recognized depth, such as real-time architectures, ML and AI platforms, data governance, large-scale migrations, or industry-specific solutions.
  • A proven record of growing consumption and platform adoption in large accounts.
  • Executive presence and the ability to influence directors, VPs, and C-level leaders on long-term data and AI strategy.
  • Experience leading competitive displacements and complex enterprise evaluations.
  • Strong strategic thinking that links architecture decisions to business outcomes and revenue impact.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a quantitative field, or equivalent experience. Advanced degrees are valued.
  • Company certifications.
  • Prior experience at the company or at a major cloud, data, or AI firm such as Snowflake, AWS, Google, or Microsoft.
  • Published thought leadership, such as blogs, conference talks, or open source contributions.
  • Industry vertical expertise with executive-level domain credibility.
  • You will complete a live coding assessment and a platform build during the interview.

Conditions

The company considers all candidates without regard to protected characteristics, and if a role requires access to export-controlled technology or source code, it decides whether to seek a U.S. government license and may decline an applicant on that basis alone.

Benefits

  • The company offers benefits and perks, with details varying by region.
