Description

The company is hiring a senior engineering manager to run the NHI and Agent Security team, which works on non-human identities and AI agents.

The team is building Agent Identity Security as AI agents and copilots spread across enterprise systems. It is defining next-generation IGA for non-human identities and agents and helping write new industry standards as the agent ecosystem matures.

Its scope covers discovering agents, tracking what they do, and defining access management and runtime authorization to keep the security posture strong.

This is a high-impact leadership role at the center of the engineering organization.

You will lead engineers and tech leads as a player-coach and set the technical direction for NHI and Agent Security. You will work with product, integrations, and security engineering as the company grows within the company ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Set the technical vision and roadmap for the team that drives visibility and governance of NHI and agent identities.
  • Shape architecture, design patterns, and engineering practices for building enterprise systems.
  • Work with tech leads and senior engineers on key technical decisions, running design and code reviews to uphold quality and standards.
  • Find and promote new technologies, tools, and approaches, including AI and ML, to keep product development moving forward.
  • Make sure the product is built and run with high performance, reliability, and observability, including logging, monitoring, and compliance.
  • Lay out detailed execution plans, timelines, and processes so the team ships on schedule with quality.
  • With Product, shape the long-term agent identity security roadmap and help define industry standards for agent discovery, auditing agent actions, runtime authorization, and least privilege access.
  • Partner with Product, Integrations, Platform, Graph, and other product teams to reach business goals and build what customers need.
  • Work with other the company teams to advance next-generation identity governance.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow backend engineers and tech leads, writing individual development plans and offering stretch work.
  • Own the full talent cycle for the team, covering hiring, onboarding, retention, and performance.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in backend engineering with a strong focus on distributed systems or identity security, plus 4+ years in an engineering leadership role, ideally across startups and enterprise SaaS.
  • Experience integrating AI or ML models into product workflows, using AI to improve the product experience, or building system intelligence at scale (strongly preferred).
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies and frameworks, and a record of driving AI adoption and using AI tools to raise team productivity and engineering efficiency.
  • Familiarity with IGA, or with how traditional systems are changing because of agents.
  • Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), distributed systems, and containerization such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with authentication and authorization protocols and IAM concepts, including how identity and access relationships are structured in complex enterprises.
  • Hands-on engineering skill in one or more of Go, Java, or Python, comfortable working in the codebase at a depth that suits a player-coach role.
  • Proven ability to lead and grow a fully distributed, high-performing team, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and retaining strong engineers and tech leads.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills: running several workstreams, keeping engineering cadence, and keeping delivery on track without micromanaging.
  • Clear, proactive communicator who can explain complex technical ideas to both engineers and senior leaders.
  • Holds a very high bar, is never content with the status quo, and always looks for a better way.
  • Goes deep on details while keeping the big picture in view, staying technical without getting lost in the weeds.
  • Low ego and high curiosity; hires people smarter than themselves and creates the conditions for them to do their best work.
