Sign Up to ReadThe company is led by CEO Craig McLuckie and CTO Joe Beda, who both helped create Kubernetes. Kubernetes gave enterprises more control over where and how they run software, and the company now applies the same open approach to AI agents.
Enterprises need infrastructure that runs long-running, increasingly autonomous AI agents securely and reliably at scale, while they keep control of their data, systems and models. The company is building open, Kubernetes-native software that handles agent execution, secure access to tools and systems, and central controls for identity, permissions and policy. The architecture is still being defined, so you can help shape a core layer of enterprise AI.
The company works in the open with its community. Its open-source work includes ToolHive, an MCP platform that secures more than 20 million tool calls each month, and Mecatl, a cloud-native agent harness. Its commercial product, the company Enterprise, adds an AI gateway, central identity, policy enforcement and observability.
Enterprises want to run AI agents on their own Kubernetes clusters, behind their firewalls, and connected to the identity systems they already use. The commercial platform is built for that, by a team whose founders co-created Kubernetes.
Customers are onboarding now. You would help the first ones reach production and also work with some of them as design partners on new features and products. The category is new, and feedback from customers can reach the shipped product quickly.
Within 6 to 12 months, success would look like a complete subsystem you designed and shipped that now runs in production for enterprise customers, one or more customers moved from proof of concept to production on their own Kubernetes with their feedback turned into a feature, and a clear step up in the team's engineering bar through mentoring and stronger product engineering culture. It would also include better release practices, with AI-assisted workflows used where they helped and avoided where they caused rework, and you as the go-to decision maker for one or more platform areas.
Remote role based in North America, with a strong preference for candidates in the U.S. Eastern Time Zone.
Anticipated base salary is $189,000 to $231,000, plus equity and a comprehensive benefits package.
The company offers a flexible hybrid or remote work setup.
