Description

The Engineering team keeps improving the product and how it is built. The stack is modern, the team likes trying new technologies, and the code is meant to be maintainable, robust, and fast. Engineers work closely with designers and product managers, iterate often, and care about both architecture and the product experience.

The Integrations team builds the product and platform features that connect the company's product with tools customers already use. It shipped the first outbound integration pattern with Workday and an MCP server now used by more than 100 customers. It is now adding ingestion of third-party productivity data to power automatic updates and evidence-based reviews.

This role leads the team as it grows its impact: bringing integrations to market, building reusable platform capabilities and playbooks, and setting up operating routines so each new integration ships better than the last.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of third-party integrations and platform capabilities, from prioritization through launch and ongoing operation.
  • Build reusable playbooks, technical patterns, and processes that cut the effort needed for future integrations.
  • Mentor engineers and coach them toward technical growth, tying their development to team and company goals.
  • Push continuously to improve engineering craft and processes.
  • Keep the experience for customers worldwide polished and reliable while the team keeps shipping quickly.
  • Work with your team, Product, and Design on new customer-facing products and improvements to existing ones.
  • Represent the team across the wider organization, giving it public credit for wins and taking responsibility for setbacks.

Requirements

  • You have managed software engineers directly for 4+ years, guiding their development, giving performance feedback, hiring, and building a diverse, collaborative, and inclusive culture.
  • You have led integrations, API or developer platform, ecosystem, or marketplace teams.
  • You have shipped and run third-party integrations, handling partner dependencies and API reliability.
  • You coach people toward growth and promotion and deal with sustained underperformance.
  • You set up clear mechanisms for prioritization, delivery, quality, and cross-functional decisions.
  • You partner well with Product, TPM, GTM, and external technical stakeholders, and you build alignment in complex discussions.
  • You link technical strategy to company goals and deliver measurable results.
  • You communicate well in writing and speaking, adapting to executives, engineers, and non-technical audiences.
  • You take ownership of ambiguous, high-autonomy work and see it through.
  • You are empathetic and put employees first, helping them do their best work.
  • You live the company values: Ship Shipmate Self, Clear Eyes, Own The Outcome, and What's Next?
  • Preferred: experience with Node.js, React, Flow, GraphQL, Postgres, and AWS.
