Sr. Software Developer

The company is a large healthcare firm that provides insights, products, and services to help make care more accessible and affordable.

The team is hiring a senior software developer to design, build, and scale secure, reliable, cloud-native applications for healthcare technology, including AI-enabled engineering work.

You will collaborate with engineering, architecture, product, security, and platform teams on API-first services, system reliability, and modern application delivery on Azure and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable full-stack applications with Java, Python, React, REST APIs, MongoDB, and PostgreSQL.
• Develop AI-enabled applications that use LLMs, RAG, agentic workflows, and multi-agent designs.
• Design and deliver cloud-native systems on Microsoft Azure using Kubernetes, containers, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Lead technical design discussions and help set architecture direction, engineering standards, and reusable patterns.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, test automation, monitoring, and platform tooling.
• Investigate complex production and non-production issues, find root causes, and recommend lasting fixes.
• Work with cross-functional partners to deliver secure, compliant, reliable, and maintainable software in a regulated enterprise.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and shared practices.

Requirements

• Have at least 7 years of professional software engineering experience, including enterprise-scale application development.
• Have built applications with Java, Python, React, JavaScript or TypeScript, REST APIs, or similar full-stack technologies.
• Have designed and tuned database solutions on MongoDB and PostgreSQL, including data models, query optimization, indexing, and data integration.
• Have hands-on experience with cloud-native architecture, ideally on Azure, Kubernetes, containers, microservices, or serverless systems.
• Have hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot, including code analysis, test generation, documentation, and productivity workflows.
• Have designed or integrated APIs, distributed systems, event-driven services, or enterprise integrations.
• Have worked with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps or DevSecOps practices, Git-based workflows, automated testing, and release processes.
• Have applied secure coding and practices for software quality, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Have worked in Agile delivery alongside product, architecture, security, and operations partners.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field, or have equivalent experience.
• Preferred: Experience building AI applications with LLMs, RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks, or agentic AI patterns.
• Preferred: Experience with multi-agent systems, autonomous workflows, AI copilots, or AI-assisted automation.
• Preferred: Experience with Azure services, Kubernetes operations, event streaming, messaging platforms, or API gateways.
• Preferred: Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL, including performance tuning, schema design, indexing, data migration, and secure data access.
• Preferred: Experience contributing to open-source frameworks, internal developer platforms, reusable libraries, or engineering accelerators.
• Preferred: Experience with observability tools, infrastructure as code, policy-as-code, SRE practices, or platform engineering.
• Preferred: Experience using AI-assisted development across the software lifecycle, such as code generation, review, repository analysis, test automation, documentation, risk detection, and productivity gains.
• Preferred: Experience in healthcare, regulated technology, security-focused, or compliance-driven environments.
• Ability to work at a computer for long periods in an office or remote setting.

Conditions

The work model may be remote, hybrid, or office-based, depending on business and team needs.

Occasional travel may be needed for team collaboration, planning, or business meetings.

Base pay range is $99,100 to $132,100.

Pay depends on performance, experience and skills, equity, periodic market reviews, and location, and may include an annual bonus or long-term incentives.
