Sr. Project Manager - IT Service Delivery

Description

You will manage IT projects across their full life cycle, using the company's PMO methodology and the company methodology, and deliver the outcome set out in the approved SOW. Note: the company name appears in the duties below.

You will lead Professional Services teams that start, plan and deliver technology solutions, aiming for schedule and budget targets and strong customer service.

Your main work covers project management, internal and external communication, project cost control, and day-to-day contact with customers, project teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, control and close projects in line with the company's project management methodology.
• Build and maintain a project plan with a Gantt chart, dependencies, milestones and quality gates, drawing on input from the company, the customer and any third-party experts, and tied to the SOW deliverables.
• Compare actual progress with the plan, analyse variances and act to keep the schedule on track.
• Keep scope within the SOW. When new scope appears, lead change management and write the change request.
• Track profitability, bill milestones on time and report earned value so the project's financial health stays visible.
• Build and maintain the master project plan, request the people needed, direct their work, and adjust assignments when required.
• Identify and log known risks throughout the engagement, and apply mitigation with the team and stakeholders.
• Write the communication plan covering meeting cadence, status reports and escalation for customers, stakeholders and the team.
• Make sure deliverables are provided and checked against the SOW, and that the customer accepts them and is satisfied.
• Capture lessons learned and share them to improve processes.
• Oversee deliverables from third-party vendors and partners, working with their project manager or point of contact.
• Use working knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud and managed services to support engineers on assigned projects.
• Follow the company's mission and values, and apply applicable federal, state and local laws and company policies with honesty, ethics and professionalism.
• Deliver the level of customer service the company expects.

Requirements

• Show a record of managing large, complex, cross-functional technology initiatives across cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, collaboration, managed services and digital workplace services, working with customers, engineers and key technology vendors to reach business goals.
• Know project management methods, practices, tools and techniques, and collaborate well in a matrixed setting.
• Lead people with strong leadership behaviour to run services and processes effectively.
• Hold a bachelor's degree in a related field and formal project management training. An equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted.
• Have 7+ years of enterprise project management experience on complex IT projects, leading teams of up to 10 people.
• Have 7+ years of project management experience in IT professional services covering infrastructure, Azure Cloud and/or managed services.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Project, and have worked in project, portfolio or workforce management systems such as ServiceNow.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is strongly preferred.
• CAPM, ITIL, CSM and/or technical certifications are beneficial.

Conditions

This role has no supervisory duties.

Travel is minimal, as most of the work can be done remotely.
